Yeah, that was interesting. I mean, we know he was involved somehow in the cinematics from seeing the credits, but I never thought he was so hands-on with everything. And why did they keep it such a secret? That's what I don't get. Weird.

I feel like they really want to separate this Tomb Raider and the previous generations of TR. They may not have mentioned anything about him being involved because he is so associated with what TR used to be.

They specifically said he wasn't in an old Q&A, just read it like 5 minutes ago!

I remember that, actually!

Crystal Dynamics are weird sometimes.

Toby Gard doesn't work for Crystal Dynamics anymore. Here's a post from an old thread that addresses this:

From what I've heard it is purely coincidence that Toby Gard is involved with the new Tomb Raider game.

Everyone was asking questions at the BAFTA event after seeing him on the sidelines when Camilla was doing a scene in the making of clip we watched.

Turns out he has set up his own motion capture business or something along those lines and his first commission just happened to be Tomb Raider.

EDIT: Just looked it up, his company says he now does "Games Consultancy in the Action Adventure and Story Genre"

The vampirajen TR review finally came. And she brought up a good point. Roth probably could have been the father figure of Lara Croft, then when he died it probably would've, well, we probably would've cared more.

Did Tomb Raider need any of the side characters?

That includes Roth and Sam. Every time I watch like playthroughs of Tomb Raider everyone seems so psyched about the beginning of the game. Tomb Raider does indeed have a great opening. But when the other characters come along and get involved did they really do anything for her character? Did anyone else think when Lara got her bow for the first time and we hear Roths voice telling Lara how to use a bow (or something like that), did anyone else think we'd hear more of his voice pop up on how to do things?
And without Sam there wouldn't be much of a Himiko story and more Lara just trying to find a way off the island.

What was the point of Sam's cam beyond the few cutscenes? What happened to it? CD should have really used Lara's cam for Lara to capture different scenes from the game or as a gameplay mechanic.

larafan25 26-01-14 23:03

Indeed. I was really hoping she would use that cam to capture significant things.

Buttt nooope.

Hello!

I have a question regarding multiple playthroughs; do your upgraded weapons and such carry over? Like, is the hard difficulty basically a New Game Plus?
