Yes. :pi:
Throw Lara from a high cliff.

JsotoTRSaga 09-08-12 15:30

Check all the controls and tell us which function every buttons have. If you please :)

sackboy123 09-08-12 16:19

Break lara's neck lol :jmp:

xLara_Nathanx 09-08-12 16:24

Also check how the game plays compared to Legend/Anniversary/Underworld. Is Lara ''heavier''?

Linoshi Croft 09-08-12 16:54

New video.

Zomborgi 10-08-12 04:49

Hey guys I've got another question!

Do we have any confirmation on Lara's ability to go swimming? I've seen footage where she's wading and she'll duck under water to go through a tunnel but that's about it.

Thanks! :D

Nope, no swimming in this game.

larafan25 10-08-12 04:51

Nope, no swimming. :/

Though it remainds to be known what happens when she reaches water beyond wadding depth.

Zomborgi 10-08-12 05:01

Awe that sucks :(
Thanks for the quick reply though!

:yik: OMG it just hit me...maybe Lara will swim on "top" of the water!!! She probably just won't go "under" it!!!

That sounds plausable right?

I've thought this for a very long time (after all this is how they did it in Uncharted up until UC3 and Lara only swam on the surface of that one pool in TRL England) but it's still questionable.

It's possible we won't be able to reach deeper water without dying.

Maybe ruined ships and rubble will block our way from wadding so far into the ocean.

edit: My fear with this game is that they've spent to much time creating events and not enough time (not time but focus) on mechanics underneath it all.

Even though it may be step back from the previous swimming mechanics, something is better than nothing...

And I've always found it idiotic that she couldn't go under the water that section...was it because of the monster (i forgot)

And your fears may very well turn out to be true. I, and I'm sure many others, would hope that they didn't unnecessarilly reboot the franchise just for it to be plagued with even more problems.

Stevo505 10-08-12 06:20

They said "no swimming."

What if Lara needs a bath.

Maybe that will replace swimming. Lara taking baths :pi:

Without them she would be a very dirty girl....

She will be forced to get into the water quite few times and we seen it on few demo. It will do the shower things for Lara I guess. She would be feared to get into those filthy waters again. :p

Tear 10-08-12 12:43

I would laugh if she could swim in the final game and they were just ****in' with us.:p

This has crossed my mind before. :vlol:

I do think it's ironic that they said no swimming, yet Lara has been in water in every demo so far. Just not swimming :pi: Lol

They're trying to put more water in areas to make up the 'no swimming.' thing. :p

Tonyrobinson 10-08-12 15:11

I have read yet another article from Kotaku running down Tomb Raider. It is very apparent they have a problem with the franchise pretending to care about ethics when it actually praises games like GTA it is quite sickening to see how unfair they are all of a sudden ever since their rape article. :o

Valentino 10-08-12 16:05

I was thinking if we walked into the sea Lara would say somethink like "What am I doing, i'll kill myself!/ I need to find Sam" or if she went out the tides would either kill us or just push us back

Rai 10-08-12 16:11

Maybe it'll be similar to what happens in TR3 and Lara falls in the rapids. Although we've seen her fall down a waterfall, the current is too fast, but she doesn't drown. Maybe the current just stops you going too far or being able to swim. I mean in the den she's seen as almost neck deep, but the water isn't flowing there. The sea could just be too rough.

TGS will held from September 20-23 in Chiba, Japan. :)

larafan25 11-08-12 22:44

We NEEED a level editor...

Honestly, it didn't hit me until now just what people could do with one, and would do.

Aside from all the silly and nasty...

We'd have people making giant jungles, with just...crap-loads of trees...and stuff to do.

Oh my God.

I mean, it would be incredible.

Oh this picture tells more than a thousand words. That they are still using their old CDCE (Crystal Dynamics Crystal-Engine) from TRL. lol :D

But we already knew that anyways. This Engine is very editable. They made Deus Ex HR with it, a fps game. So the game doesnt need to be bad because of that.

Peep Show 12-08-12 22:24

Crazy how much it changed in a year

Yes! Also the music that plays during Lara's bow n arrow adventure is pretty incredible, it builds the momentum perfectly "Dum,dum,dum..". The music in the area with Bambi.

Actually the whole game is so much better without Karl talking over it! :cln:

The music comes from the old music player in the bunker. Someone was there before Lara :cln:

larafan25 12-08-12 23:06
