This is a Tomb Raider Legend E3 interview/live demo from 2005. Skip to 9:20. The question is, "How long will it take to finish the single player game?" and the answer is... Yep, you guessed it: 10-12 hours. Wow. Remember, this is TR Legend, the shortest Tomb Raider ever that can take 2-4 hours to complete, if you know the game well, and it took me roughly 6 hours to complete on my first play through.

Now, also remember that this is exactly what CD are saying now about about the new Tomb Raider. Do y'all still believe them now? And yes, I know it's a different team now, it's a reboot, blah blah blah, but this is just solid proof that game developers lie (not that we already didn't know, lol).

Yeah, I don't think Tomb Raider will be that long.

Come on! Don't be like that.

That refers to the main plot of the game, but if you want to finish everything, be sure you'll need a few more hours playing. Looking treasures, reaching inhospitable places or discovering caves. Anything. I bet 20 hours to get 100%.


Regarding the treatment of the fans could not complain on the number of activities in which it has been possible to be or participate in the making of this game. And still not over. A few days ago I read a post referring to this.

Yeah, yeah, he also says in that video that there will be "plenty of replay value" and so many collectibles etc. Was it that amazing in TRL? I think not.

And it's funny how he says the game would be out in Winter, but in reality, the game was released in Summer the year after. CD haven not changed a bit it seems.

OMG!

10-12 hours, replayable value, the game is about exploration...that sounds just like what they say about Tomb Raider. We all know that Legend is everything, but 10-12 hours long game with a lot of exploration and replayable value.

I just wanted to watch a TR Legend video from E3 and found that interview. I was amazed by all the similar things he was saying compared to what CD tell us now, and then he said that about the 10-12 hours single player, and I just had to share it. I was laughing too! :p It's amazing, really, and not in a good way.

I'm seriously speechlees, I'm just smiling here like an idiot and don't know what to think. I'm confused, depressed...well, I hope the new game has a lot of replayability, exploration and stuff and 10-12 hours of gameplay - just the main plot, tho'. Without any exploration.

Well, from the very beginning, I thought it was a load of bullocks (pardon my potty mouth) and just hilarious, to be honest. It's why I have it as my signature followed by "Ha", because, for me, it's just comedy and I'll never believe it until I see for myself. Karl obviously had too many beers that day.

The only thing really untrue in that interview was the length of the game itself, which they may not have been lying because of how much was cut...for whatever reason.

You obviously didn't see the whole interview then.

He was going on about how much exploration there was going to be (the game is linear as hell), all the collectibles (there were collectibles, but they weren't that great nor were they that difficult to find), all the replay value the game has and lastly, the release date of the game.
