She's also supposedly a multiplayer character, but I haven't played that yet so I don't know.

Thank you!

Mountain Village....so long to have 100% completion...brain hurts....cannot play more TR tonight...

brand.seph 11-03-13 09:24

Stupid Question but...

How can I do the Finishers like the one in most trailers? xD (Arrow to the throat, shotgun to the face etc..)

I have upgraded all of my Brawler Upgrades and still can't do the weapon finishers. I have a PS3 and whenever the enemy's on their knees and when I have to press Triangle on the controller, she finishes them instead with the axe.

You should focus on the hunter upgrades ;)

Just now on Tier III. On it! Thank you!

Soul 11-03-13 09:59

Noooooooooo - I just tried to help another user and loaded his savegames. Before I replaced mine (99%) with his (40%) I thought I had copied them into another folder as backup, but when I tried to get them back (after helping him out) it turned out I did only copy them, but forgot to actually paste them into the new folder. :o

Short?! Did you explore enough? I definitely wouldn't call it short.

If you didn't explore it's your own fault, the game is meant to be played with exploration, its length is extremely good for today's standards.

just_love_her 11-03-13 11:50

I finished the game yesterday with 82%. Took me about 15 hours. The game is big and you shouldn't just rush through it like LAU. The island is huge and well desinged + the game was actually chalenging. At the last puzzle and wind puzzle I actually stopped to think what to do for a few minutes and same goes for challenge tombs. Combat was also challenging especialy at the end. Best tomb raider game since the first one. Good job CD! :tmb:

motoleo 11-03-13 11:56

Combat is challenging especially when the blind you and it's foggy.

Supernova 11-03-13 12:23

Fully explored, this game is easily longer than Legend and Underworld combined.

Seifer 11-03-13 12:55

It felt short imo, I was on it fairly constantly though. It's not long in the same way Resident Evil 4 was long, at least not to me. I'll be better able to judge the length on my second playthrough.

To me Resident Evil 4 felt long as well. But in the sense of annoyingly long. I think I felt this way because I was getting sick of the autumn, and grayish environment. As well as fighting all the same enemies over, and over again after I died or because of new mobs. I actually couldn't get enough of Tomb Raider. The environment is quite beautiful, and the enemies don't feel like you're shooting doppelgangers.. If you're like me, you will have enjoyed Tomb Raider more.

Soul 11-03-13 13:14

I played every single Crystal-game the same way: Trying to explore as much as possible without using the walkthrough (or in-game hints such as survival instinct or Lara's journal in TRU), unless it's REALLY needed.

Legend took me around 10-12 hours (including time trials)
Anniversary took me 18-20 hours altogether
Underworld was about the same as Legend (not counting the DLC) - maybe a bit longer, due to the large scale of some areas.

Yesterday I finished TOMB RAIDER with 99% (one of the mushrooms in the forest somehow wasn't where it should be, so 10% was impossible :P) and the Steam-Timer said 33 hours (though I think it didn't count the 2-4 hours I played while being offline), which is indeed much longer than TRU and Legend combined. I'd call it a lengthy game, compared to other Action Adventures.
Of course the 33 hours include some gameplay-stretchers, such as searching for the final mine/ the final totem etc., but I actually enjoyed these little tasks :tmb:

I dispatched the enemies in Resi 4 with surgical precision :D I didn't die very often in that game at all. It was a long game, not because of repetition or anything, but because it was just long. I thought the environments were brilliant in that game too, it had a lot of variety. I regard it as an absolute classic and the highpoint of the series :p The less said about Resi 5 however, the better.

I didn't enjoy TR more, I simply enjoyed it, and I'm thoroughly looking forward to the next game.

PS the best Resident Evil game since 4, is Dead Space :D

Mmmbop 11-03-13 13:50

Is there anywhere on the game that tells you how long you have playing or have you guys just figured out how long it's taken you? I'm playing on Xbox btw.

Just finished the part where Alex dies on the Endurance and I reckon I've played about 14/15 hours but I'd like to know what it is exactly.

Phlip 11-03-13 14:48

It must be weird for those using TressFX to then see the old dead slug hair on the videos that Lara watches.

italibabee 11-03-13 14:49

I read on the Tomb Raider Facebook page that there's an app called The Final Hours of Tomb Raider that's out, but I can't find it?

Is it called something else or something?
It's suppose to have early concept art I think.

Baratheon 11-03-13 15:01

It’s available on Steam and has loads of information on the process of Tomb Raider. Even video footage on the previously titled “Tomb Raider: Ascension” – it’s worth a buy!

italibabee 11-03-13 15:16

It's saying though I can get it in the iPad, but I can't find it in the App Store.

Baratheon 11-03-13 15:17

Does this link work?

italibabee 11-03-13 15:18

Maybe it's because I'm on my iPod right now, but that like just is blank.
I'll go on the computer and see what happens.

Edit
Oh wait.
Is it because it's something I can only use on the iPad?

Linoshi Croft 11-03-13 15:22

Lara found a secret GPS, she said there's a note inside...but how do I view it? :o

Yes it does.
I have an iPod Touch so I can't use it because it's for the iPad.
Thank you for your help though.

Would the new Tomb Raider be considered an epic?

In the select menu, on Documents, at the end of the list under GPS secrets

Jill Lover 11-03-13 16:59

I found Lara's reaction really awkward during the scene of the helicopter crash. She just stood there without saying a word. I think it would have been better if she'd screamed "Noooo!" or something... that was their only hope. She was like expecting something wrong to happen... I don't know sometimes she has emotion and in other cases she's as cold as ice.

Baratheon 11-03-13 17:03

Sometimes I think Lara has too much emotion going on inside her head that she doesn’t know how to react to it. She’s just focusing on what to do next, how to get off the island, etc.

ItIsOkBro 11-03-13 17:07

After beating the game, go listen to the journals of all people who died.

DEPRESSING AS HELL :(

Roux 11-03-13 17:08

Remember the toy train and doll you can find with Millie and Coco scrawled inside? Remember how the island inhabitants have burned shipwrecked women whilst searching for a suitable host for Himiko?

Lara ponders what happened to the family, and I have to wonder, did the Solarii burn the little girls too?

Baratheon 11-03-13 17:10

I think so. :(

Spong 11-03-13 17:15

Despite completing the game twice now to 100%, I've still yet to bother looking in the Extras menu

Mmmbop 11-03-13 17:50

Just finished it, 75% and reckon it took me about 18 hours. Actually surprised at the length, was expecting it to be much shorter. Now to get that extra 25%...

klona 11-03-13 18:01

Save your grenade launcher ammo, you may need it later for one of the secrets. :)

Ahh thanks for the tip! Not looking forward to re-visiting some of the creepier places if I'm honest, like the Geothermal Caverns for example... But determined to get this 100%

klona 11-03-13 18:08

Yeah, that place was so icky, finding the hanging cocoons to burn them for the challenge was so annoying.
I couldn't find the last one but I found it later.

One of those is quite well hidden, I was searching for ages :tmb:
