Yup. She better look so good, she looks brand spanking new. Everyone's first response should be, "Oh, wow, she doesn't look like the old one at all!"
Even though it's the same one. For some reason, I imagine her going through the entire game holding her side. |

Why would she hold her side through the entire game? ehhh |
The computer generated Lara looks perfect because it's a finished product. We've yet to get a png of the in-game model. But I can't distinguish a similarity between the two.
She doesn't give you that feeling that you can't put your finger on? |
They look exactly the same. >_>
In fact I'd say the in game to CG model comparison is closer in this game than any other TR game. Also hair is very dynamic...it doesn't stay one shape and therefore probably appears to change length. |
At some angles... I was working in photo shop and I put the in-game face on the CGI body and I'm like... ??? It didn't work.
I'll do my real comparison with the finished in game model. It's a work in progress. :p |
Agree with just*raidin*tomb. They look the same.
@motoleo what do you mean her hair length keeps changing? In the demo? lolno. You can see here her ponytail was pretty long first... http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5320/6...428ab44d_n.jpg but then they've changed it and made it shorter... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7254/6...549e438b_m.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7049/6...49dd69dd_m.jpg The shorter ponytail is from the second wave of screenshots which were taken after some polishing and that's what we saw in the E3 demo. Here's an evidence we've got screenshots from different stages of development. Take a look at the textures and details (no letters on the strap, texture of her shirt, etc.) Before (long ponytail) http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7226/6...2546868218.jpg After (short) http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7084/6...821138f9_m.jpg |
I still don't buy that they're different models.
|
Huh?
|
I don't think the hair is a different length and I don't think the screenshots are from separate builds of the game.
|
Are you blind?

____________________________________________ Obviously Lara's model evolves through the game and there are details on her which have changed, but I don't think the length of Lara's hair has changed and I don't think the low quality textures were the result of another earlier build, don't textures load? I've played games where textures look like poop one moment and then load into their true details... |

Seriously, is this...
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5320/6...428ab44d_n.jpg and this... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7049/6...49dd69dd_m.jpg the same length? And this...looks those fingers the same to you? http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7222/7...8028a151be.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7275/7...415d47f567.jpg Plus the shots of the strap and the texture of her shirt I posted before...it's obvious, really. |
I don't think so.
I think perhaps her hair has some more transparency in the other demo. However I don't think there are separate screenshot builds of the scavenger den. Besides, in the two shots you posted of Lara's hair and then chest, her hair seems the same length to me in both of those shots (you just can't see it in the cropped out shot). |
I'd imagine her shirt texture would change though.

I agree with Lukass. I've never been certain on the length and style of her hair- it's all over the place. Just would have been easier to do a TR1 ponytail. Put it in a bob! Lol.
Seriously though, the model does look ... odd. Is it because of her new body? What were her numbers 36-22-34 or something? Now they look pretty much 30-30-30 if you know what I mean... |

I just think that they're quirks. If the texture inconsistency is a loading issue (not problem but issue) then I think perhaps that's why in one shot of the night hub her hair looks like it has no transparency, and does in another. |

No ugly bobs please. |
I really like this model actually.
I'm not sure how to put this, but she feels sort of complete. Her look feels like it fits the game. I think a lot of people prefer a prettier uniform, but something about the length of her pants, boots, straps on her shirt, just small details seem just right to me. Her outfit feels...iconic...but not in the way that an outfit would actually be iconic, as this is not iconic yet, but it feels like it has personality and is characterized. |
I like the outfit and everything, but changing the model's proportions is like driving a different car.

I believe her animations are going to change as we progress, she becomes less awkward.
Though I like this realistic climb up (not because it's realistic, it just pleases my eyes) , people naturally lift their leg like that (well weird inexperienced lazy people). |

And yeah, who knows how her climbing and jumping animations will look further in the game when she become more experienced. It's been said that her animations will change during the game. |

The only thing it needs is maybe a little more detail, but I would still be okay if not even that happened. It is perfect and so are her proportions. Leave her alone. T_T |

It kind of feels like they're making her frightened on purpose when her evolution should just be natural, instead of, you know, predictable. I wonder how they're calculating how she moves, do they take inspriration from real people.
So did they do this with motion capture? |

I don't think her hair's shorter... at least I bliddy hope not. In ones where it looks shorter it could be flowing/blowing in the direction of the camera, with the bottom being tilted raising up so it appears shorter.
