Kasumi is saying (I believe)
You need to put the tomb4 project files, in Steams TR4 folder. Kinda tricking steam into launching the tomb4 project (as if the game is untouched) The reason for this I believe- I've never actually used Steam, but I've heard as of somewhat recent, Steam now has an integrated control fix thing for these problems now! Classic TR games use Dinput natively which- isn't good on new controllers as almost are xinput. Steam has apparently fixed this middle man issue now, where for the longest time people needed to use DS4Windows or Joy2Key to bypass it - this is all word of mouth from some friends. Can't confirm 100% Steams controller change. EDIT; simultaneous reply with Kasumi :vlol: nice
You can move files, but also just "Add Non-Steam game to library" that lets you use any application with Steam overlay and Controller option. It's doing same thing as Joy2Key but per-game and you can download and save configs from community, i.e. I didn't need to set it up for TR1-3, and only change flare binding for 4. It's confusing but there are guides online and if people keep having issues with gamepads I can make a video guide. |

Thank you for your service! :wve: Steam just launches the .exe in the games directory, even if you modify or replace them, every tombproject works out of the box... except tomb1main where you have to rename the launcher into dosbox.exe. But you can also launch non-Steam games through Steam by simply adding their .exes, they will miss the ID (which you can fake with a text file), but it will work for gamepads, overlay, screenshots etc. regardless. So yeah, any tomb4.exe will work for Steam, as long as it's in the same folder, so you can just put Level Editor or Times Exclusive level into TLR main directory and Steam will see it as main game, but it's a messy solution. You can use Steam shortcut or launch the whole client, doesn't matter. For buttons Swapped, try Controller Layout (don't know how it's in French) and try different config or change it yourself. It needs a bit of trial and error. I had to swap buttons in Angel of Darkness as jump there is X but I have muscle memory. |
Hi, although I always planed to look at this project carefully, I haven't started. :D Just two questions.
(1) Do you think it's possible (with the knowledge of the decompilation) to write a more comprehensive savegame editor? I mean more comprehensive than before. (2) Where is Lara's HP in the savegame file? I plan to make a survey of the no-scratch play techniques, but couldn't find Lara's exact HP. :( |
^ Oh, I just come to say that I have found a solution. Thanks for everyone who's trying to help me.
