A fan did a better Tomb Raider than they've been proposing, reading that article from March again. There weren't any rolling boulders, or crawlspaces at all in the reboot. And this is a game mechanic, a feature that is in Tomb Raider since the first released Tomb Raider title. There weren't any secrets either. They've just opted to leave these out? And people have been requesting the return of the tightrope. I don't really know why.

Honestly I forgot and it's incredibly minor, but the rope climbing/ascender is better than the Tight Rope.
I do miss the crawlspaces, they were underused in Core's games but at least TR3 had a good few hidden crawlspaces but now they're flat-out gone, like many good ideas/mechanics from before 2013.

The next Tomb Raider game will give fans "the ability to know their favorite Lara Croft is canon," according to an interview for the Official PlayStation Magazine. Job listings & online records suggest it could have been in development as early as late 2019. #TombRaider #TR25

I'm so happy I am finally being given the ability to know that my favorite Lara is canon. Thank you Crystal and Meagan.

I just hope they’ll do the character right after these statements..

It might be a stretch, but people are sort of getting the idea that Lara Croft could be personalised to your own customised liking, by the way how it was described. Maybe like a dress up barbie with the comments, and fx sounds that she'd do with these personalised clothes on. Honestly, this is what I was expecting after they've expressed to canon your favourite version of Lara Croft.

I am concerned that I am not concerned. The developers were able to get in. Read Tomb Raider forums. And still say they did good. She'll have us. I don't think there will be a Tomb Raider player from the tombraiderforums.com that won't be interested in buying Tomb Raider 25. Regardless what turn Lara Croft would want to wander to. It is waiting, and a little more of that.

It amazes me the lengths people on this forum will go to in order to be negative. We have had nearly 10 years of CD trying to chase trends and make a character where they just slap the Lara Croft name on her whilst abandoning the things that were important for many. Now, they're actively trying to embrace the past and it's still not good enough.

It's a rebooted time line. The Core and LAU adventures don't have to happen EXACTLY as they did before. Details can change just as they did between the Core and LAU era with CD explaining it away as the Core era games being vastly dramatized versions of the real stories.

It just takes a little imagination... I just never thought the fan base would be the ones who needed the imagination.

we still don't know anything about the game so we're not even sure if they'll try to chase trends again or stick to their own thing. Trying to please everyone instead of doing their own thing is what worries me. if that's being negative then sure, but I'm a bit cautious about the whole unification thing.

I may be completely dumb, but this makes completely no sense to me, like what does it mean that my favourite lara is canon…? Isn’t my favourite lara already canon as she’s 1 person? Is there a tomb raider multiverse? Ugh crystal is so backwards sometimes.

Unless they’re planning an full rpg game where you take bits and pieces of different laras and build one you like lmao, and make it a gaas too while at it.

Lara_Fan1 19-11-21 10:29

It means whatever Lara you prefer whether it’s Classic, LAU or Reboot in the unified timeline they’re the same, rather than three separate versions of her. It’s not that difficult to grasp.

JsotoTRSaga 19-11-21 16:02

I am loving the unified timeline already, definitely the wisest decision by Eidos/SE/CD even if a little late but better late than never.

Bruh it means every Lara is going to be just one Lara so you can relate to your favorite, classic lau or reboot is not that difficult to understand

Bruh I think TankGirl's (valid) point is that this is a redundant statement from the devs because everyone's favorite Lara has always already been canon.
