What I read from this is that the main game is exclusive to PS3, but that more games are in development for other formats. No mention is made of what formats are being developed for. I reckon it's actually more likely that he's referring to games for the Wii, DS and PSP.

Yes, I think they might be talking about the other FFXIIIs, because the one that is rumored to go on the 360 is Haeris.

I've decided. Final Fantasy XII on the PS2 is gonna be my next purchase (along with a pre-owned copy of Star Wars Battlefront I).

As a Final Fantasy virgin I've gotta start somewhere...

Why not FFX? I think FFX represents a lot better what Final Fantasy really is...
Sure you can like Final Fantasy XII, but it's so different from the others that you may think wrong about the series.

It's not the same as previous ones, and that's a difference. In terms of battle system FFX is the only episode to have a turn-based one, while FFXII open gameplay is already present in FFXI and will be implemented in FFXIII as well. As for the story side, it is indeed true that the focus shifted from characters to the plot itself, and so XII resembles Tactics more than the main series. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the game itself - only you won't get a "proper" view of how series is constructed from XII only. Not that FFX tells you everything about it on spot anyway - I started with it and imo to get to know the taste of PS era FFs fully you need to finish at least FFX and one of the PS1 episodes.

no you should go for XII,it's much better (in my opinion).
no bloody random battles like in x and x-2,those are so annoying!!
and yes i gave x and x-2 a bunch of "second" chances but i still don't like it.
mostly because of the way battles occure.
in XII it's more "free" then the x and 2-x battle styles (i can't really explain).
i started with XII (as my first ff game) and it's honestly the best game i've ever played!!

there are more consoles than 360.. I suppose other versions would come to nintendo.. like usually. The main games should be on ps3 because they are so huge (and I dont mean it should) but that's what I've read from articles and magazine scans..
