I think I might just choose the "screw you" options for both Tifa and Aeris and end up with Barret instead next time! (never happened before)

It really annoys me that every game in exsistence seems to be interchangeable between platforms, except for Nintendo, which keeps all its games to itself. Grr!

Yeah. It probably has something to do with companies wanting to make the most out of the Wii's special features. Its a very different console than X360 or the PS3.

You talk to people, and they will give you a chop if you do something for them, basically you have to pass information from one person to another.

You need to pass information.. Like someone had a misfortunate event at the Draklor laboratory and is worried about it, you need to find the laboratory chief. Talk to either one of them (one of them has a memorizable option) Then talk to to the other one. You passed information and you get a wooden chop for it :) The easiest one perhaps is to find a person who imitates another NPC. They both look the same but their sayings vary a bit. Talk to the real NPC and then to the imitator NPC. You'll get a chop from that.

Talk to as many NPC's as you can. You'll figure it out soon.
