It means that the other rooms in average are less cluttered than this. Textures also give details but you see many objects also on the walls. There is also a fire extinguisher that's not visible, on the right

Definitely cluttered in the middle - you have four crowed desks masquerading as one object. Also I imagine with all the monitoring devices in this room that an ordinary PC would not be required. I'd keep something like that for an isolated office.

There was a very large (grey) desk in The Base Level - the room where Lara shoots the crane operator. It's approximately the same size as the combined desks that you have here - it's a classic object so no need to modify anything.;)

You can see it in this cutscene here.:)

Oh it's great! Put it on Trsearch after you publish the level :p

So this is my corrected object and room now... / Edit: I think it's definitive now :)

Yes I know! I use that desk already in the level :p And thanks for the opinion

That's the plan, hopefully anything I make for this can be of use to other projects. :D

And that looks a lot better. :tmb:

Struggling with my level again - I made some edited textures and intended to have a corridor which was older and which would blend into the other areas seamlessly..
The idea doesn't work - the textures are too jarring when next to each other and it looks so random and 'off'

I need to rethink what I'm doing.. perhaps a hole in the floor with a cave which Lara can crawl through, ending up in this older area.. hmm..

I told myself I would not use Tomb Editor's new diagonal walls, steps for this level - but I think I'm going to try them out, seems as everyone one else is using them hehe.. hopefully doesn't make it any less 'classic' or authentic in that way

I'm not using Tomb Editor (I discovered it too much in late! :P), but if you need help with textures just drop a message, I made already some seamless textures just for fun in the past (seamless on all the 4 sides) or also transition textures from 1 environment to another.
Donnnn't fall in the trap of the diagonal walls you too ahah
(post a screenshot of only the jarring parts maybe).

Generally the deeper you go, the older stuff gets, so I like this idea. Create the idea that the new library was built on the older one. Maybe to protect the first as some antechamber, hiding the real treasure?

I understand you want to keep some areas secret but it's hard to help if we don't have an idea which texture sets are clashing.:p

The hole in the floor might be the best approach for now. Maybe even a cave or cavern separating the two areas?

I'm so glad to say that (except for cutscenes and some small animations I have to still make) the first part of my level is finally done!! :jmp:

I'll have it for beta testing now and hopefully I'll start the second level very very soon! Fortunately for me this level will be a lot lot shorter :D
