The track sounds fine in Audacity now. :tmb:
Hopefully it fixes the problem in-game, too :)

Thx a lot for your cooperation :)

it's reasonable to expect that this way whatever piecemeal glitches might lurk ingame ought to be straightened out

it's also fair to anticipate I'll have to subsume the fix asap in the program, inevitably recompiling the whole darn executable.

thanks to observant reports by lanyer, pablokks and ANoDE I was made aware of a glitch in the soundtrack located in my customized mixed-mode tombeng.bin as discussed in previous posts

that bug now has been hopefully fixed, so I guess it's worth embedding the patch iow said edited .bin file into the program and here is v1.7.8.4

Hi.
I downloaded Version 1.7.8 of TR1.
But I cannot make it to accept my Gog TR1 installation.
"Sorry, no valid Tomb Raider 1 installation has been detected: the game will not start"
Even when I installed it into the same folder as Tomb Rider game, still no luck.
I have it installed on my G: partition. Is that a problem? Do I must use C:? I would like not to, as it is my SSD drive.
What to do?

Is there a benefit to using this over the ati patch? I was under the impression that the ati patch was the definitive way to play TR1 on PC, surpassing every other method in result, ease of installation and reliability. :o

that could be the issue indeed
there's a simple fix for this anyway
I'd rather answer via a PM which I'm going to send you.

Not sure. I have never heard about ati patch before. Does it gives you also ingame music, like Playstation version?

https://www.glidos.net/tombati.html

It gives native widescreen, sound effects completely in sync, no over-dialled brightness issues, no missing shadow, PS1 music + ambient sound and higher quality FMVs. :)
