Oh, and and apparently, talking to Whitman at the gate is not needed for the Chatterbox achievement. I missed him out and I got the achievement anyway, so yay! All is well. :p

Glad you liked your play-through! (better than the watch-through?)

And, glad you at least managed to get that achievement. I wish I know what I've missed.

Must be some kind of glitch, I didn't talk to him at the gate either and I didn't get Chatterbox when I finished my first playthrough ;__;

TR was -75% on steam 2 days ago (Its -50% now)
So my friend decided to buy it and I'm telling you he was playing it like 22 hours straight and he finished it!
Now he's collecting all the relics and stuff. He really likes this game which is amazing because he never was into TR.

We played some multiplayer too and he kinda kicked my ass (twice). :pi:

trfanX34 16-07-13 20:18

^ I played TR with two friends today and they loved it but... let's just say that TR isn't that easy for everyone... :vlol:
I was like this all the time...

Patrick star 16-07-13 20:19

you may be right ...tomb raider fans were somehow used to the hard classics but I heard many times from my freind that this game isn't that easy !

Yup, believe me I know. When my friend reached himiko's tomb he just wanted to outrun the bad guys and whenever he tried to smash the door and leave a dynamite was coming out of nowhere killing lara. He was like "IMMA DO IT THIS TIME", 15 minutes of watching lara dying passed then I just got up, I grabbed the PS3 Controller, I hit him on the head with it and just killed those guys.

So I'm guessing it wasn't as horrible as you expected it to be? :p

That achievement is so ****ed up. I ended up having to look at guides online to find out what conversations I was apparently missing. All the guides I looked at showed one conversation with Whitman (out of a total of three) at the gate that I simply COULD NOT have. No matter what I tried, no matter when I tried it, the third conversation wouldn't happen. So long as you talk to him twice before you go off and find the salvage for the axe, you'll be set. I was convinced it was a bug though.

Then I discovered a conversation with Sam at Shipwreck Beach that none of the guides mentioned. You can talk to her after returning from the sunken galleon with the block & tackle, but before you trigger the cutscene where you hand the block & tackle over (and Jonas gives you the new bow). As it turned out, that was the conversation I'd been missing.

The Art of Video Games
Date: Friday, July 19th
Time: 4:00-5:00pm PST
Location: Room 7AB

Description: Quite a bit has changed since Dark Horse first published Mass Effect in 2010, as the publisher has grown this line of books to include franchises like Last of Us, Dragon Age, Bioshock, The Legend of Zelda, and most recently, HALO and Tomb Raider! From canonical comics to beautiful hardcover art books, Dark Horse has firmly established that there is life for popular gaming franchises far beyond the games themselves. Dark Horse PR director Jeremy Atkins, creators Faith Erin Hicks and Neil Druckmann (The Last of Us), and some surprise guest writers and artists offer a look at what’s to come.

larafan25 17-07-13 21:44

We will.

I'll be at the Doctor's for 10AM, which means I'll be awake and gone before then, having not touched the computer. I'll be stuck there for some time, probably have to get a physical.

It tends to be on days like that, when I do not think of the computer or touch it first thing, that info happens.

So, I expect a little something about the future of Tomb Raider comics.

But comics are lame :(
And comics are aimed at children who shouldn't technically be playing the game in the first place :pi:

Including the ones with age restrictions? Like TR9.

Comics don't have age restrictions because they're aimed at kids, unless of course you're talking about Japanese porn comics.

They really don't? Not even something like The Walking Dead?

Unless Crystal & Dark Horse are taking Lara in a seriously bold new direction, I can't see a new TR comic being any more exciting (or mature) than seeing Lara visit My Little Pony Land.

Personal blog/art dump, that's what I see most people use it as.

Valentino 18-07-13 08:42

I was reflecting on the thirst before the game was released. And now it's been out for months. Now we're going to have to endure that again with the next one.

Hairhelmet12 18-07-13 18:44

Omg ya'll, I just had the oddest glitch. D:

The last time I played I stopped at the sort of start of Shanty Town, after Lara cauterizes her wound, the gameplay starts and you start the shoot out. So I loaded up the game and I was just before the downed helicopter, Lara was still holding her side and panting a bunch. So I continued as normal but as I went into the helicopter the cutscene didn't trigger.

Lara was still acting all hurt but I could continue into the shanty town, I went to jump on a pole but Lara didn't swing across, she just stopped and hung there. I couldn't drop, move or anything. So I had to quit to the main menu and start again. I started at the same spot as before, Lara was still panting and hurt, but as I went into the helicopter this time, she just stopped acting hurt and went to normal. So I just skipped that fight sequence. :D

GUMI 18-07-13 22:43

Lara needs to drive a car in TR2. IMO.

You'll have to make do with a speedboat and a snowmobile I'm afraid. Unless of course you're actually talking about TR10 and not TR2 :pi::p
