What's so bad about the others? How could you judge them if you've never actually bought it? Quote:
What is it with the influx of newbies gif and thread spamming, trolling and circumventing the censors here? Guys, stop. |

Though apparently the world is not traditional open world, and is instead split into hubs. Hopefully they will still be large and non-linear. I pray. |
I've been playing Torchlight II, which is "open-world" now, too. From what I understand from that it won't be Elder Scrolls open world, but there would be hubs with branching paths or caves to explore.
Any news I missed other than the delay and the new 'Reach' screenshot? |

My main fear is that the hubs will be visibly disconnected and not feel like one world. I'm not sure what a good example of this would be, but I don't want to feel like I'm in a completely different level when in another hub, I want the hubs to feel part of the same island no matter how much space separates the playgrounds from each other. I just don't want to feel surrounded by walls. |

I don't care whether the plane scene is QTE or not, I can't wait to see it anyway! It looks pretty amazing and just to see her moving and the plane falling down...oh Gawsh! Plus the scene with the poor deer! I must see it right ****ing now! D': This E3 is gonna be so big and it's so close! I just don't feel it yet, the time has stopped for me...:/ |
I expect the plane scene to be QTE, tbh.

Wee need an anti-QTE thread and everyone needs to petition against it in any future Tomb Raider.

If we walk across or in the plane and it falls, we can stumble, fall, grab on, fall some more, all while still having control of Lara. Quote:

I actually envisioned a way in which QTEs aren't so intrusive.
Don't play a cutscene which requires a button to be pressed at certain intervals. Instead, portray a scene which can not be done within the bounds of the control scheme or animation set, and have the player interact with continous, button movements which make sense and flow together. For example, if climbing the plane was a QTE, how about we pushed up while alternating between the left and right trggers? It wouldn't be as obtuse as "PRESS X HERE NOW", and watching Lara magically fling herself up the plane. |

I don't mind the QTE's as long as they are not there TOO often. It's certainly better to be involved in cutscenes too etc. Still, the plane scene doesn't necesserily have to be QTE.
I hope Cam is ready to be announced :D |
I think QTEs are fun :D

Lara can be hanging onto that plane and we could still have control, essentially making it a variation of QTE to some people, but I don't consider it to be. Quote:

^Oh, I thought he was talking about the camera feature to be announced. :vlol: He's talking about Camilla, right?
I never hated QTE's initially, I loved them in Legend and I even kept killing myself to repeat them again, but I think it makes a game feel more restricted, I'd prefer more flow and freedom. |

and playable demo for us lol . I'm happy now , because the team won't be silent like after E3 2011 . |

I'm not sure to take CD's word for it, tbh. I just can't after the overload of QTE's in the past games.
|
Did Underworld really have all that many QTEs? I don't remember a lot in TRU to be honest.

I kinda want no slow motion, tho. I want something dangerous to happen that gives us a fright and we have to quickly react without slow motion or the camera guiding us. :/ |

I am kinda going to miss jumping off someone and shooting them in the head in slow-mo. That was fun :D

Actually this podcast is pretty good. They have some very fair points about delays and how everyone clusters releases in the Fall just because of Christmas, while summer would be a huge window for the gaming market and not many take advantages of it. So yeah they appreciate the delay of Tomb Raider and Bioshock, and I definitely do from that standpoint. I already have so many games on my list that I can't afford. Oh gosh and how some gamers seem so entitled to...yes. This podcast. lol |
The guy with the southern accent... -cringe-
