Why the scavengers kills also the deers? They could kill the wolves too, but they don't. Just the deers.

Linoshi Croft 10-02-12 23:59

They are easier to find and take down maybe, or they have a sacrificial meaning?

We don't know this for sure that the scavengers don't kill wolves. Maybe the scavengers and wolves are infected or hit by the same...I was gonna say spell or vooodoo, but that's supernatural...uh...whatever it is that makes them scavengers and ultra weird mangy wolves. *shrugs* :pi:

Lukass 11-02-12 00:01

I think so too. The wolves might play more important role in the game than just enemies. Hm, still wonder if there are more species than just wolves and deers.

tombstone 11-02-12 00:07

behind the sacrificed lady the entity appear's to be alien like, like the ancient aliens who were mistaken for god's in ancient times.

If you're referring to zombies, they have a scientific explanation. The explanation is fictional(the virus) but cd said no supernatural stuff, not fictional.

Lukass 11-02-12 00:08

I also noticed that the sacrificed lady has picture of the God or whatever it is painted on her shirt.

i think the sacrificial part is correct. there are real life myths of these certain groups of people who used to sacrifice virgin women because they were of 'pure' blood, turns out the women they sacrificed were supposed to be young, i think there was a documentary on this, i forgot the name of the group but im doing my research on them now.

i might edit this post for more info.

Where did they say no "supernatural" stuff? They said no goblins and stuff like that but they never said there won't be fictional creatures.

the aztecs used to sacrifice people in real life and there is proof, but im sure there was nothing 'supernatural' about that

I agree. They didn't say no supernatural stuff. They said no supernatural monsters. I think it's hilarious to say "no supernatural stuff" because all the happenings on the island are supernatural as hell. Just existence of the island itself is supernatural.

Sacrifice to gods yes. But that depends if you consider those gods supernatural.

i dont :p, maybe they're deluded fools. Oh and don't these scavengers sacrificing people for their gods too? i see a resemblance with the aztecs and mayans dont you think? i mean that picture behind the sacrificed women lara is looking at could possibly be one of their 'gods', maybe the scavengers consider them supernatural, who knows?

Stevo505 11-02-12 01:26

Well, gods are like ghosts and ghosts are considered supernatural.

jhs270694 11-02-12 01:28

im not an atheist lol, i read a lot of holy books myself and yes i do believe in ghosts :D. what im trying to explain is that of course when you believe something supernatural you believe it by faith and faith alone, that does not mean they a necessarily true (i sound hypercritical i know lol) as there is no clear evidence to say the contrary, maybe the scavengers believe they're supernatural but in reality they're not. or maybe there is some kind of twist which might explain why lara says at the end "i found a truth", what kind of truth? that we dont know.

Lukass 11-02-12 01:33

I don't believe in ghost. I know they are.

jhs270694 11-02-12 01:38

I LOVE talking about this kind of stuff, i really am i truth seeker and i just love debating about abstracts and theories, facts are boring because they're there in your face not needing to be proven. I'd rather seek a fact rather than being told a fact, if you know what i mean.

I imagine "I found a truth and knew what I must become" was just referring to her finding out what her situation was and that she has to become a survivor in order to, well, survive. The truth she finds is probably just who she truly is.

Also congrats on your 100 :D!

Oh snapppp.

21. She can legally drink in America now.

jhs270694 11-02-12 02:04

lmao

"A subtrope of Human Sacrifice, Virgin Sacrifices typically fall under three main categories:
As payment to a god or some other power, either to keep them functioning or to win their favor in general.
or
As payment to a god or some other power for the exclusive use of some powerful Applied Phlebotinum."

i read from a website, there is definitely some sort of myth behind these scavengers and obviously these might be some use as an explanation as to why they sacrifice people. i know this has probably been mentioned before, i just want to confirm this belief. i wonder what lara will do when she finds 'the truth', what ever that means.

Thanx, and your probably right but will she leave the scavengers as they are? on their twisted plot to sacrifice people? i doubt lara could kill every last single one of them, maybe she can but atleast she wont be able to find all of them to do so.

karl did mention that there is a mystery of the island that needs to be solved. Your right aswell in respect to her becoming a survivor but we can see two main themes growing within the game. the first one: her survival, the second: finding out about this mysterious island.

sorry i didnt read all your post untill now, all forums on the internet need an automatic refresh button honestly i dont know when people post a reply by the time i am finished posting.

I hope Karl will ask them to put his 600th Beer bottle somewhere. Maybe we have to find 600bottles of beer as secrets. :p

*to self: peeps forgetting Lara is British :whi:* She's British y'all, she's been legally drinking since 18 :D

Uh, yeah, the figure behind 'Sarah' the tied up woman, is surely a god/dess. but of what cult or religion? I swear I've seen something like it elsewhere. It doesn't look Japanese to me at all.

I made a mistake last night when I said 'no supernatural stuff', I guess I remembered wrong or put 2 and 2 together 'no supernatural monsters' and came to 5. :p

I've just finished TRU again and I must say that I really hate how they recycled enemies over and over - small spiders and bats from Thailand appear in the crypt? That was annoying... but I said to myself maybe Lara's father "accidentally" brought them with rest of the artifacts, thrals and so on...:o But when I saw those big spiders from Mexico in Jan Mayen Island!?! Come on... Hope CD will not do that again. I understand that this time the setting is on the island so they will not be able to avoid it but still...

It wasn't. I used that name because I'm OCD like that, I have to name people :p. Sorry for the confusion :o.

@Only TR Lover, hopefully, despite being an island there will still be diverse enough environments, so allowing for diversity in enemies too. It really would be meh if enemies are simply repeated throughout. Though I'm guessing the Scavengers will appear all over.
