Just like that bit midway through the game when Lara's shimmmying along that crumbling ledge outside the Chasm Monastery. All you can do is press one direction and nothing else. And she won't ever fall & die (despite all the wind, the flying debris and the fact she's teetering over a chasm). It's beyond miserable quite frankly. But hey, it builds the narrative and that's what's most important in a game these days, not gameplay.

No, the Japanese version IS in Japanese... It's for Western versions who want Japanese language.

I agree :/ I hate that part of the game. So much action going on onscreen but IRL the only thing that you're doing is pressing forward... It ruins the immersion a lot imo.

It's the same with the climbing of the Radio Tower, I thought you would have had to at least hit the jump button or something on that last section where she jumps up to the pole, but no, you just push forward :hea:

Yeah, that's another pretty sucky moment. Along with climbing the crevice from the mountain temple to the mountain village, or wading through the river between the posts when you're descending the mountain.

Those were obviously meant for atmosphere. You either can enjoy them or not but they are not wrong just because you don't like them. I can enjoy them, as I can a wide variety of things.

I found scaling uphill zip lines boring too, and that's 'proper' gameplay. Even though Lara moved pretty fast, it was still boring, reminded me of the larger wall-scaling/monkey bar sections in the old TRs. The rope ascender was a Godsend. I'd have grown tired of climbing with the pickaxe too if the whole thing couldn't be sped up by constantly jumping and pressing action, although that completely undermines the faster climbing upgrade in Lara's skills :p

Why not? It's a fresh start, so it can be classed as TR1. And soon we'll have Tomb Raider 2. :D

It can be classed as TR1, but it shouldn't. It's technically wrong and you'll just end up confusing people that way. I mean, no-one calls 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 1 or 2008 Prince of Persia, Prince of Persia 1. There's already TR games with those numbers, so imo, it's best just to stick to saying TReboot or TR2013. But if you want to waste time explaining to people everytime that you actually mean the new TR and not TR1, then feel free to do so. :p

To be honest. People refer to TR1 as Tomb Raider One. People will call this simply Tomb Raider or Tomb Raider: The Reboot (as some of my friends call it)

I don't think the next TR will be TR2.

It will probs be either Tomb Raider: blahblahblah

or

Tomb Raider 2: blahblahblah

So people won't get confused.

for me this game is the first one of a new era and i'll consider the sequel as Tomb Raider 2 ....everyone has a way of thinking and i dont care if it's confusing or something...

I don't understand the language but it sounded so beautiful that I enjoy the game much much better. :p

The reboot should of just started with a badass AOD, emo, dark, intellegent, awsome Lara.
