I found it among concept of Tomb Raider: Ascension. It was in the "Drastic Ideas" section. Lara was supposed to have a companion and the monkey was one of them but unfortunately they chose a girl (which wasn't very far from the monkey, appearance-wise) which is arguably not cool compared to the monkey. The monkey was propably the model after which TReboot Lara's face was made :) .

I think that all we got (comic-wise) was that book which explained each of the crew members' reasons for coming on the Yamatai expedition but I guess you mean a comic series like the ones we had before. Well, the series ended and I can't say I see it returning any time soon.

True, but I doubt that they were planning to release that many games ever since they made the first one so it's not like they didn't go for the red-blue thing because they were gonna make a third game anyway. Plus, Tomb Raider is already part of a series, all of the game set as example in that picture you posted were the first and second of a series respectively, Tomb Raider is the 10th so it wouldn't make sense to follow suit now.

Played some TRIII & it has been years. I never knew how witty and sarcastic Lara really was. Before I was too young to know what emotion she was actually conveying and what she really meant.
