Hey guys, I knot this is a bit random but I wrote this as I imagine Lara would react after the events of Yamatai, building her into what I think is the Lara Croft I love. I've posted it on it's proper section but there are way many visits so hope it doesn't bother that much :)
An e-mail from Samantha to Jonah

Dear Jonah
Excuse me for writing you in such unexpected way and in the middle of the night but, since certain time ago there’s something that worries me. As you know, after what happened to us, none of our lifes went back to their normal courses. I’ve been thinking that most of survival stories are tell with certain ammount of honor and pride, sometimes they are so great that general audience feels touched by them and documentaries, books, even movies are made based on such stories. However, our story didn’t had the same luck but all the oposite.
When we just putted a foot back on civilization, the first thing we did was spending hours making statements to police officers about what happened with us, and with the rest of the missing crew. Of course, they didn’t believed a single word. But who could? An island from wich there’s no records about, with insane survivors adoring a sun queen on a non-existing cult... even myself, almost two years after, still wonder if all of that actually happened or if it was a terrible nightmare. It’s logical they didn’t believed what we said, not them neither Alex, Grim, Roth and Whitman’s relatives . If we didn’t went to prision was because there is no evidence to proof that we are guilty of their dissapearence... of their deaths. And despite that, we’ve been very lucky, Jonah. We’re still alive. However, the reason because I’m writing this it’s not to re-tell all what you already know but something else. And that reason is Lara.
Being her best friend I feel shame to admit it but… I am not sure what’s going on with her. Sometimes I feel that her former self is still on that island and she won`t ever escape. As you know, Lara took the worst part of all this. If barely avoiding jail and carrying with a guilt she feels over her shoulders wasn’t enough, she felt obligated to use her family heritage’s founds to voluntary pay to the ones which survived and to the families of those who didn’t. And it’s not giving her money what bothers to her, it’s feeling she’s betraying herself because always wants to do everything on her own, without any help. Not even the one from her parents she legally inherited. But there was something even worst and more painful to her, and it was the fact she had no evidence to sustain all her amazing discoveries: Kingdom of Yamatai’s location, Queen Himiko’s Tomb and all the records from her archaelogical success were completely gone. And even she tried to organize new expeditions to Dragon’s Triangle to support both what we and she said, they still haven’t found a thing. Now her fellows academics believe she’s a joke and a spot to Croft’s legacy believing she set all this as a cheap montage to valídate her lies. And that is the result of being Whitman’s protegee. She barely could deal with all that.
Because all of this she decided to leave her flat and go back to where she really should have been since day one, Croft Manor. Once there, she just hired one old butler loyal to the family, and even tough I suggested to consider more company she denies completely. Everytime I went to visit her, she was training on an obstacle course she made to construct on the Manor’s yard to keep phisical and mentally bussy, “on my own terms”- she said. The rest of time, she´s investigating her field both indoor and outdoor, but always on solitary ground, keeping away from people. Basically, the only thing she wish to do is gaining a respectable reputation, not because she’s looking recognition –she barely cares what her colleagues think about her- but to honor and clean her father’s legacy. And here relies my biggest worry.
Even considering -and you have seen it with your own eyes- she always had a strong, endurance and adventurer character, she’s now really close to being someone obstinate and ambitious. Her training is not only limited to gain physical and mental agility, she also adquired big interest and made herself with a big weaponry wich she will use –if she hasn’t yet- to get what she wants without hesitation. She never chosen the easy way, and she won’t chose it today less than ever.
I don’t wanna lose her, the girl I grow up with until that horrid experience, and I don’t want she becomes a cold hearted woman, lonely as a steppenwolf. I know you love her as a little sister of you, and I know too it will make her feel better if she sees you again. So please consider my invitation and come a few days to my home and then we can give Lara a pleasent surprise. You’ll understand what I say way better when you see her personally. It’s not that she went crazy or something like that, it’s just that I don’t want the guilt she feels because of what happened becomes the engine of her life and modify her behavior more than it should. I’ll be expecting anxious your answer. Thank you and take care
Sincerely; Sam.
P.S: Do you have any news about Reyes? I'm not able to contact her since last time, but something tells me such impossibility is a mere intention of her.
