Uncharted (Series) | A Thief's End Coming 2016

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...rted_logo2.png

Uncharted is a series of action-adventure/platforming/third-person shooter video games developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 3 video game console. The series follows the adventures of modern-day treasure hunter Nathan "Nate" Drake as he travels around the world in search of mystical treasures. The series includes Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, its sequel Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, a motion comic prequel, Uncharted: Eye of Indra, as well as the two games, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss for Sony's PlayStation Vita. A film adaptation was also announced.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is the first game in the Uncharted series. Combining action-adventure and platforming elements with a third-person perspective, the game charts the journey of protagonist Nathan Drake, supposed descendant of the explorer Sir Francis Drake, as he seeks the lost treasure of El Dorado, with the help of journalist Elena Fisher and mentor Victor Sullivan.

The narrative opens with a quote attributed to Marco Polo, "I did not tell half of what I saw, for I knew I would not be believed." The plot revolves around the doomed voyage home of Marco Polo from China in 1292. After spending almost 20 years in the court of the Mongol Emperor Kublai Khan, Marco Polo departed with fourteen ships and over six hundred passengers but when he arrived in Persia a year and a half later, only one ship and eighteen passengers remained. Polo never revealed what had happened to the lost ships.

Uncharted 3 sees protagonist Nathan Drake and mentor Victor Sullivan traveling around the world to places such as the Rub' al Khali desert, in search of the legendary lost city the Iram of the Pillars, which is mentioned in the Quran. Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazer also return in Uncharted 3. The plot draws from the archaeology days of T. E. Lawrence.Arne Meyer, Naughty Dog's community strategist stated that the "main theme of Uncharted 3 is 'finding the way'.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Uncharted: Golden Abyss is the fourth entry in the Uncharted series, and the first portable entry in the series. It is one of the first games released for the PlayStation Vita. It was developed by SCE Bend Studio, with development overseen by Naughty Dog.

To get this thread started:

What's your favorite Uncharted game?
Who's your favorite character?
Who's your favorite villain?
What's your favorite action sequence? (Uncharted 2 train sequence for example)
What do you want for Uncharted 4?

trfanX34 24-05-13 15:50

Omg I love how you got the covers to fit perfectly with the videos *-*

What's your favorite Uncharted game? I've only played UC3 .__. SOME DAY I'll get UC2.
Who's your favorite character? Elena >>>
Who's your favorite villain? None to be honest.
What's your favorite action sequence? The sinking ship in UC3. (Again, I haven't played the others so idk about the action sequences in 1 and 2 :p)
What do you want for Uncharted 4? No idea really .__. I kinda just want ND to stay away from UC and focus on TLOU for a while. And before someone says it, yes, I know that they are / can be developed by different teams.

Jami393 24-05-13 15:54

Apparently Uncharted 3 was bigger than the 50GB disc it's now stored on.

Zebra 24-05-13 15:55

What's your favorite Uncharted game?
Drake's Fortune.

Who's your favorite character?
Nate.

Who's your favorite villain?
Flynn.

What's your favorite action sequence?
Cruise Liner Chandelier Climb (Uncharted 3)

What do you want for Uncharted 4?
Focus on one or two locations like in Drake's Fortune, better story than in 2 and 3, keep 3's epic action moments but reduce them in number, better hand-to-hand combat and stealth mechanics, less characters than in 3 - give Nate some alone time, location: Greece, Italy, India or Egypt.

Peep Show 24-05-13 15:56

Let me do this

What's your favorite Uncharted game? Uncharted 2 by far.
Who's your favorite character? Nate/Chloe (can't choose)
Who's your favorite villain? Flynn
What's your favorite action sequence? Train chapters (U2), Sinking ship/Plane crash (U3)
What do you want for Uncharted 4? Too much to type in here but i'll make sure to do that later.

Carbonek_0051 24-05-13 15:57

What's your favorite Uncharted game? Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Who's your favorite character? Either Elena or Sullivan.

Who's your favorite villain? Garbriel Roman

What's your favorite action sequence? The jeep chase in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

What do you want for Uncharted 4? Honestly, I wanted it to remain a trilogy but if they insist on continuing the series I want them to reveal more about Nate's real identity. Also I want it to go back to one location, I liked it in the first game.

Great thread, by the way. :D

Peep Show 24-05-13 15:59

^Thanks, I see you love U1, that's nice cause that game is pretty underrated. :tmb:

Tombraider95 24-05-13 15:59

whoo! Wanna know about Uncharted 4 already!!!

What's your favorite Uncharted game?

Uncharted 2/3

Who's your favorite character?

Nathan Drake of course :mis:

Who's your favorite villain?

Katherine Marlow =D We didn't get to see enough of her though I thought!

What's your favorite action sequence?

The Train Ride I guess. I like a lot though :)

What do you want from Uncharted 4?

Another awesome story/villian. Different outfits for campaign!

Yup. it was a great starting point for the series but (IMO) the others didn't feel as enjoyable. Drake's Deception came close but fell apart in the last half. I really enjoyed the first half, especially getting to see Nate's past explored.

Fixed. :tmb:

What's your favorite Uncharted game?
- Tomb Raider 2013 ;)

Who's your favorite character?
- Charlie Cutter, he is so funny. :D

Who's your favorite villain?
- Marlowe (Uncharted 3) :cln:

What's your favorite action sequence?
- Uncharted 3 (The sinking ship sequence) :)

What do you want for Uncharted 4?
- Open world action-adventure, like Assassin's Creed series and plenty of exploration opportunities, and the game must not be a PS4 exclusive, rather come to PS3 as well. :)

Carbonek_0051 24-05-13 16:09

Was that really necessary? Please don't troll this thread, go be annoying elsewhere.

Vinkula 24-05-13 16:11

What's your favorite Uncharted game? Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception :)
Who's your favorite character? Chloe Frazer. I miss that ass ;_;
Who's your favorite villain? Katherine Marlowe by far.
What's your favorite action sequence? (Uncharted 2 train sequence for example) Either the jeep getaway in Uncharted 1 or the cargo plane in U3.
What do you want for Uncharted 4? Chloe's ass back!

Not trolling, its a great franchise, but everything has to come to an end. :(

Oh please, stop trying to hide your trolling. You kept talking about how the series is a flop in the E3 thread and your post in here wreaks of mocking the series.

I still don't understand why you don't like U2 tbh I think the game is perfect and I hardly ever say that about a game. Everything just flowed so well, they took everything that made U1 good and made it even better, the new characters (especially Chloe) were a great addition to the series not to mention that Flynn was a badass villan. :p

U3 could've been the best Uncharted game, it started out so well (like you said), getting to know how Nate met Sully was one of the greatest things in the game (IMO). I just feel like it went all over the place at the end, the story didn't really go anywhere and didn't make much sense. I also think that it had too many locations, I mean you basically spent 2 chapters in one location and then moved on to the next, it was too much. That said I still think it's a really great game, it has one of the best action sequences i've ever seen in a game.

Tell that to COD.

The games are actually awesome and different each time, not a slight change and resold. That's why it shouldn't end for a long while :D

Flynn was the only high point for me. The plot, settings, villain, & writing all just seemed boring. Plus I felt like the combat was more annoying and I actually had multiple tech issues which ruined the experience for me. :(

The plot in the second half just seemed completely disjointed with the first half. It feels like two completely different plots. That said I enjoyed it for the most part but it could have been a million times better.

For me the main problem was that the game had too many location changes, as well as a weaker story (Lazarevic was especially annoying. I mean, you expect action-adventure cliches in an Uncharted game but he was just too much.) and atmosphere. And the solution to the mystery also just seemed a bit too fantastical for an Uncharted game.

I agree completely (but you know this :p).

What's your favorite Uncharted game? Uncharted Drakes Fortune
Who's your favorite character? Elena
Who's your favorite villain?
What's your favorite action sequence? Burning Villa Uncharted 3
What do you want for Uncharted 4? Chloe DEAD, more Drake back-story,slightly more open world for exploration, Very compelling story.

Vinkula 24-05-13 16:24

^ Chloe will not never die!

To put my few cents in, I like U2 the second of the series, reason being, it has become quite boring. Uncharted 3 still excites me and I love it still number 1 :) Uncharted 1 is great game too, I loved it and plan to play it again in near future. But it just doesn't top U2 or U3 for me. :) So U3 > U2 > U1. I love them all tho. (so no Uncharted 2 vs 3 war for me).

We already have a general TLOU thread, there's no need to make a new series thread every time a new game gets announced...

That thread is titled 'The Last of Us. A PS3 exclusive.' if you notice. ;) So TLoU2 doesn't fit with that, and that will probably be a PS4 exclusive title.

ajrich17901 24-05-13 19:13

What's your favorite Uncharted game?
My favorite is still Uncharted 2, and I still have yet to play a game as good as it.

Who's your favorite character?
Nathan of course =P

Who's your favorite villain?
Zoran Lazarevic

What do you want for Uncharted 4?
More open environments, harder puzzles, even more character development. Maybe let us play as other characters in gameplay, longer single player experience.

SurvivorReborn 25-05-13 03:31

This thread is what other threads aspire to be. HA but all joking aside (even though I can't get over the layout of this...)

What's your favorite Uncharted game?

Uncharted 2 expanded on the greatness of the first, and it was just a tad superior to UC3.

Who's your favorite character?

Chloe! Loved her attitude and wouldn't have minded playing as her in a mission, she's just too good. Sully is a close second. Actually, I really love 'em of all. :cln:

Who's your favorite villain?

Talbot, I loved to hate that guy. Or Marlowe, she was quite evil herself.

What do you want for Uncharted 4?

A little less combat every 5 seconds *exxaggeration*. I kind of want a really cool open world environment but then again I don't expect Naughty Dog to drop the ball on this one, they always design and create these beautiful environments with really pleasant scenery (even if it's a building on fire).

Ward Dragon 25-05-13 03:53

Okay, I'll bite since I just played Uncharted 1-3 very recently :p

What's your favorite Uncharted game?

Uncharted 2 by far. I think it had a better balance by which I mean more exploration and traversal compared to the amount of combat. Uncharted 1 was awful, it felt like 95% combat. Uncharted 3 was okay, and had some genuine puzzles in the France section, but after that it deteriorated into ridiculous amounts of combat as well.

Who's your favorite character?

Elena. I think she should get her own spin-off game, especially if it has Beyond Good & Evil style camera objectives :pi:

Who's your favorite villain?

I found all of the villains fairly boring, but I guess I'll go with the Uncharted 1 villain which had Kain's voice :p (Simon Templeman <3)

What's your favorite action sequence? (Uncharted 2 train sequence for example)

None really. The action sequences kind of all blend together in an unmemorable blur for me. I mostly remember the puzzle/traversal parts, like solving the symbol puzzles in Uncharted 3 France, or climbing around that huge temple area with the statue mechanisms.

What do you want for Uncharted 4?

Less combat, more puzzles exploration and level traversal elements.

SurvivorReborn 25-05-13 04:00

I don't think I can choose a favorite action sequence. Aren't all the games a long action sequence? They're good though.

xLara_Nathanx 25-05-13 17:18

What's your favorite Uncharted game?

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves BY FAR, followed by Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and then Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Who's your favorite character?

Well, Nathan of course! :p My favourite side character is Chloe. I just love her attitude and her looks.

Who's your favorite villain?

Zoran Lazarevic. He's a scary guy. ;_;

What's your favorite action sequence? (Uncharted 2 train sequence for example)

Hmm... tough one. I choose the boat sequence of Uncharted 3, followed by the final collapsing bridge of Uncharted 2.

What do you want for Uncharted 4?

I want it to be more like Uncharted 2. I want it to be in one location and I want it to have a great story. New characters are also welcomed.

--

Btw, Peep, what is your opinion on adding the Eye of Indra video comics to the OP? :)

larafan25 25-05-13 17:54

What's your favorite Uncharted game?

UC2, then UC1, then UC3.

Who's your favorite character?

Rika <3

Who's your favorite villain?

Zoran Lazarevic. Yes.

What's your favorite action sequence? (Uncharted 2 train sequence for example)

Ummm....

I guess the sinking ship.

What do you want for Uncharted 4?

A party system

lolololol

yes
