I honestly prefer this expectation. I don't know what they are cooking there, but time moves on. I keep thinking at the time they have to show the necessary cards for the final promotion.
I think, remember previous releases of other games and although it was exciting to see some progress or pictures of the game from time to time, was like going defoliating the daisy, but you never could get to see it the whole flower. Without being able to enjoy all the flower in full.
At the end you had the flower in your hand and all the petals on the floor.
When you finally had the game, much of surprise was lost.

We were saying the same about "after summer 2011". And then Christmas. And then Lara's birthday, And then March. April. ZzzzzZZzzzz.... At this point I ain't even getting my hopes up till E3. They may as well come out with the game looking completly different since I won't remember anyway

Considering that we're at the very end of April and still haven't seen a single teaser/mention, then yeah, most likely nothing happening. They BETTER have a new CGI bonanza trailer and huge re-unveiling ready for E3, 'cause right now the game has fallen off the radar majorly. At their own request.

I don't see us getting another CGI trailer.

But we need a gameplay trailer.

Then it better be the greatest trailer ever.

It's not us. It's CD which didn't release a second of new gameplay/trailer footage or screenshot since a year.

Meagan is the only person who's been doing doing public promo since last E3.

Karl was doing doing promotional stuff earlier this year. We just haven't seen it yet. :pi:

But that was nothing, but some meetings in European Square-Enix offices. I doubt he was presenting TR to the journalists. I also asked Jay some time ago if we can't expect some magazines in May (June issues), because Karl was in Europe and he said, that he don't know, but it's unlikely because the process of making the magazine is quite long so issues that are supposed to be released in May should be finished in March, early April as latest. Karl was in Europe a few weeks ago, maybe month (?) and that's just not enough time to release something in May (June issues). :/ so yeah...:'(

Something wrong is with this game :(..all year nothing new??this are not normal marketing steps...I will not be surprised, if CD will not show combat on E3, because CD are bunch of liars..what they everything said and they don't fulfilled

im feeling delays, bugs, glitches and extreme sale fails for this game if they don't start showing stuff soon! i just can feel it! there's seriously something wrong and whenever i said something like that here, everyone was like "its just because the break that they are taking!calm down"

The campaign would normally kick off the year before the release or so. But CD decidedly started the campaign early to slowly introduce the changes, and we got a lot of media in 2011.

they are quiet because developing does not go according to plan...I feel delay..is too late and they still don't announce boxart and release date...All big fall game is on the eyes, only Tomb Raider is not

No. Many other games start early promo too, but don't suddenly stop for a year unless the game is on hold or enters development hell.

Average campaign = 1 year I guess

2012 is the TR year

1st half of TR year = nothing

1st half of 2011 = a lot of coverage for a game just revealed

Take that half and put it in this past empty half of the year, and you have more content revealed so far than TRU had at this stage in it's campaign.

It's just that the campaign has been gutted a year between reveal and release.

I'm not aware of this but what I've concluded makes sense to me and seems to be in line with what CD have stated.

Ohh and what CD stated was "couple of months". A year doesn't fit "a couple of months"

this...for example, Far Cry was announced on E3 last year ...and this year promo started in February

Well, their marketing "strategy" is working to some extent, we are really hyped up about it and we're speculating about it a lot (well only the hardcore fans), the rest dun curr.

The suspense is killing us, literally.

Nobody needs a freaking link.

In one month it'll have been a year so whether they said it or not won't matter.

They did reveal though, in one of the podcasts that they had more planned to show but didn't want to look like a one-trick pony or something, and the gap in the campaign became longer.

They have said many things which don't align with the crap-load of time we've spent waiting though.

yeah no. The only reason anyone still visits is Meagan and everything she's doing to keep the community engaged. Podcasts, contests, 15th anniversary celebration, twitter, tumblr etc. The rest of marketing team seems to gave disappeared

We are not hyped up about game we are desperately ..and like you say,,only hardcore fans,the rest ??they long ago forgotten the game and rather they pre-order other games what come on Fall
