(well CD later did that, twice, but TRilogy was a recreation of Lara and TReboot is a reboot so... ) but 1.80 was too tall indeed and 1.75 was flawless.

I still dislike her current height more than anythi... no, wait, more than many things but not anything! , and the whole point was for Lara to look inferior to the scavengers yet she slaughters them like a pro... in my opinion Crystal just needed an exuse for the height change which would later on defy anyway -_- ...

Yes, she should never be taller than 1.80! Angelina is 1.75, and she looked good, but petite, well average sized women can look fantastic as well. Personally I think that even 1.75 is a bit too much for her. I mean 1.68 (her current height and Camilla's) is just perfect, they could have said that she's 1.70, more for the round figure, but c'mon 2 cm don't really matter.

If they left those finishers until later on, when she will get more desperate and strong, it would have been alright :). Her transformation happens to fast.. But who knows maybe at the end of the game, or along the way we will find out that she was part of a superhuman experiment conducted by the Nazis :p:vlol:. That would certainly explain, why she's capable of slaying men as easily as she does :D.

Oh! Camilla is 1.68... that explains it  ...! Even with 1.70 I would have still not been happy :p ! And trust me, a few cm do make a fifference (I know because of personal experience and I also hope that it doesn't sound inaprpopriate :vlol: ) . Like I said, just 1.72 would be more than awesome!

Yes, that would certainly be a logical thing to do and a nice addition. Lol, I'm in for the Nazi experiment :vlol: !

ALMOST tall is ALMOST tall, AVERAGE is AVERAGE, SHORT is SHORT and TALL is TALL.

Lara used to be tall (1.80) , she was then changed to almost tall (1.75) and now to almost average/short (1.68) while in my opinion she should have been average or tall (1.72 or 1.77) .

As Rai stated, she has some background in archery and gymnastics, but in all honesty I doubt even professionals could kill as easy as her. It's a game bla, bla, bla.. But it would have been neat to have a more realistic approach.

I keep going back to fictional health systems, that were thrown around the place, before they announced that actually there is none :vlol:. It would have been really fun to apply bandages, even to use leeches.. But I guess CD wanted to go the blockbuster way instead of a survival simulator. But even if it's not a survival simulator the game feels to action-adventure. There is no pressure, because you know she cannot die, of hunger or thirst or from taking an arrow to her knee. Also, they should have had more areas like the Deer Hub, before her 1st kill.

1.68/5'6" is above average in the UK. Average height is 5'4". I don't give a monkeys what the average height is anywhere else, Lara is still British :ohn:.

I think that it's nice as it is, all those things would be nice but too realistic, at some point it would end up boring and a gaming hell to have to find leaches or bandages to heal after each encounter with the natives :p ! The more it detracts from Survival the better!

Yeah, sure they have, but there is not much you can do there, except for you know, collecting collectibles :vlol:. There is not a lot of platforming either, as far as we know it :p.

And killing a ton of wolves. Never forget the wolves :ohn:. Also, then I'm not too sure what you're point was with saying there should be more hubs before the 1st [human] kill. Was it so Lara gains strength somehow in platforming? She's killed a ton of wolves, I guess she needed quite some 'fight' in her to fend them off. I don't know if they've still got the bear trap scene in the game, where Lara is fending off wolves while trapped (I hope so, it seemed like a fun mini game to me), but you'd need some strength and stamina to deal with that situation. It leads quite nicely into the situation with Flirty Vlad as she's gonna be pumped about killing off the wolves, surviving that and then this jerk is coming on to her and it's like 'I've just fended off wolves, I can deal with you, don't mess with the Croft :ohn:. :p

@FearEffect: nice :tmb: I like the top.

Lara was always 5'4" wasn't she? She actually grown in height. She's 5'7" now and that's above average for a young British woman...

I read that she was 5'9 somewhere.

Brian Horton said that Toby Guard made Lara 5'4 but he's made her 5'7 in this game.

Let's try it for a third time...!

She was 1.80m tall (6ft) in the Classics and Angel of Darkness, then her height was reduced to 1.75m (5 feet and 8something inches) in the TRilogy and now her height was butchered to 1.68 (5 feet and 6 inches) .

And for a second time, I'm not familiar with what is the average height in the United Kingdom but 1.68 is short/nearly average for a woman.

Rai 02-02-13 16:18

^I've told you twice now that 5'6" is above the 5'4" average of a female in the UK - which is where Lara is from, so she is not short or even average height in her home country.

Lara is not an average person, and her height was fine as it was, there was no reason for a change no matter what Crystal Dynamics says!

Uzi master 02-02-13 16:24

What makes you think she was 6 feet in the classics? Most human characters were a head taller than her.

Fan 02-02-13 16:30

Most characters especially Natla were way taller than her.

I always assumed she was between 5'2 and 5'6

I'm going to need some receipts because I blatantly remember Brian saying Toby said Lara was 5'4 in the classics.

I think it was from a question when the TR fans who ran various websites around the world i.e. Katie, Chip etc went to Comic Con SD to interview Brian and Karl and one of their questions was about Lara's height change.

Yes, except for AOD, where she magically grew around 12 cm :p.

This is not how a 180 cm female looks like

I love the fact that she's not a tall chick, but her height is average :). My only concern is that she looks too weak to put down guys as easily as she does :p.

Natla was an alien and in TRilogy she was a godess so she doesn't count :p ! As for the other characters... well all of them, except Sophia and Amanda (who were shorter) were men, who are usually taller than women so they must have been about 1.8something to 1.90 so it sounds logical to me.

I don't know how tall that is in feet and I'm logged in from a phone right now so if you could be a dear and "translate" it in m/cm?

BinRaider 02-02-13 17:08

My source is straight from the horses mouth so I would think it is a bit more reliable. She was 5'4 in the classics. She's taller now so you should be happy if anything. I didn't see why she should have changed in the first place 5'4 is fine. CD just don't want her to be too this or too that, she has to be their perfect little pet.

Well they actually early on said that reboot Lara is 164 like in the classics, but later on, after Camilla was officially announced as the voice actress, Karl said that she's 168, just like Camilla :).

LNSNHGTDS 02-02-13 17:17

But they would always characterize her as tall. Even in the Anniversary bonus disk a lady said "She was always the tall, the thin, with the big breasts" so I can't make a point out of this whole conversation :-P ....!

I remember seeing it on the official website as well that she was 5'4... THAT'S IT! One of the fan website runners made a comment about what they saw on the website to Brian. Something like 'that's too short' but Brian said Toby made her 5'4 and CD actually made her 5'7.

IIRC correctly she was making a point about the Feminazi's being on Core's and CD's backs so she's probably going to throw in 'tall' but Toby Guard said she was 5'4 and he's the guy who created her. Like everyone else says as well, she's a head shorter than everyone else in the classics.
