How would FE go about doing that? Sure, the image is theirs, but the inspiration (Lara Croft) isn't. If anything, the person selling those covers should watch out for SquEnix, seeing as they're actually using the Tomb Raider name. I'm no corporate lawyer, but I always thought that sort of stuff required clearance from the holder of the IP, especially when money is being made from it.

If that enterprise isn't officially endorsed, and if FearEffect wants to put a stop to their image being used, letting SquEnix know about it is probably the best thing to do.

I guess, but, being multinational (and Japanese :tmb: ;) ! ) I don't think they'd care thaaat much if an idiot is using one of their products to make money, after all it's not like they'd be at any loss. But if they wanna be all bitchy and boss they SHOULD sue that irrelevant person, it would be SOOO fun to make him pay while he was aiming at being paid *sadistic laugh* .

Well 18 days to the release of Tomb Raider. Waiting for the release for the game wasn't bothering me, but now that I've pre ordered the game, I really want it to be the 5th. I really want to play this game.

It's true that, in this instance, the money actually being made is most likely completely negligible to someone like SquEnix. But it's the principle, and companies like acting on principle, it makes them feel like they're being deservedly righteous.
