Well she was fighting giant monsters in a dimly lit Mayan ruin, so it was actually extremely accurate.

It was fun too. I had all kinds of guns, just like in the real game.

I remember having a dream about Underworld and there being a forest with ruins around flooded with water. It wasn't very accurate but it was super cool. It looked like that Unreal Engine demo. If you know the one I'm talking about...Unreal Engine 3 or something with the forest weather demo.

Well first off, that's kind of bas ass IMO. If she's that good with "just" a bow, and people are afraid of her. That's kind of cool. :cool:

Though you'd need a supply of ammunition everywhere you went if you were using guns too.

B. They were always visible on her.

Not when she's offing countless enemies carrying guns, but I'm sure you knew that when you typed it. Unless she ventures into an undiscovered crypt beneath an archery club, arrows are going to be very thin on the ground. Enemies don't traditionally come armed with bows. Why? Because, outside the realm of sci-fi and RPGs, it's not a great weapon.

Well it would make a whole lot more sense finding a bow in a tomb than a shotgun or pistol. NOt to mention arrows stand up against the weather much better than ammo. I can see why Crystal would make it the default.

Okay the argument that its ridiculous for Lara to be mowing down enemies is ridiculous because its just a game and I want to feel like a badass and if Lara has the will and perseverance to defend herself then right on her.

Also wasn't Lara in some archery thing in college? Oh and bows require a lot more skill than guns. I love the weapon. It's great.

Realism or not, I don't care. It's a game. It's a work of fiction wrapped around the cloak of emotional realism.

The bow will likely become the signature weapon. It's in every single promotional art for the game.

It's been officially stated as her new signature weapon. It'll continue throughout the series as her featured weapon.

Although I agree with your first point, the second is also invalid.
The bow is not the [I]only[/I] weapon at Lara's disposal throughout the game.
Also, arrows can be crafted, so it's not like she'd have to find them laying around.
Whereas ammunition would have to be scavenged from dead bodies or mercenary camps.
And this is Tomb Raider, not Call of Duty. Lara would more than likely be alone on her adventures.

I hope the bow doesn't say a signature weapon for long.

Well, from what we've seen she's perfectly capable of fighting gun wielding enemies with a bow. And there are modern bows.

That's because she doesn't have other long-range weapons in the beginning so she doesn't actually have a choice.

Modern or not they're still "uncomfortable" weapons and I don't think they're gonna be many people's weapon of choice, I might be wrong though.

And because she's accustomed to bows. But the point is that it's not impossible to fight enemies with "advanced" weapons. If i remember correctly, various African tribes defeated the british even though their weapons were inferior.

Lara's comfortable with them. As look as it isn't poking you in the back there shouldn't be a problem. :pi:
