They could keep the optional hand holding, like visual and vocal help, maps and survival instinct, implementing them at the end of production. I mean, it seems easier for me to adapt the difficulty setting to casual gamers than the opposite (the latter to be like Rise/Shadow), but I can be wrong.

I imagine the communication : "We want to bring back the thrilling of big and deadly challenges, to make the experience as intense as ever. However we don't forget gamers who want a more relaxed play and we offer them the possibility to focus on the story with their own convenience."

Yeah, in problem solving based games, players don't need hints, help-me buttons or tutorial popups: just a direction and very intuitive yet compelling design.

Some TR fans (and only TR fans) for some reason decided that TR games (and only TR games) need to compromise to the point of having 2 games in 1 or else "the game won't sell". I'm not about that.

If people think that the only way to keep the franchise alive is to make a game designed around the concept of selling a story to at least 6M of players, while other AAA studios would KILL to sell even less than that..

That's a sign of a controversial game.

The epic DLC8 topic was hardly a positive one.
