// nothing, I solved

To not waste this post I'll upload a random screenshot to tell that my level is nearly complete. :)
(It's the view from the control cabin of the famous hook, which, I spoil you, is not moveable because the script to make it work was too complex and required C++)

^
The script for the crane does not require C++.
If it has any scripting for it, it can be done in NG-Center.

The C++ part of it is something you don't need to touch: it was used to program the plugin with.
The plugin can simply be installed through NG-Center.

:O ah.
I've seen the tutorial of Paolone, that's why... I thought I had to rebuild the plugin by myself. But I didn't know that the plugin was also available for being installed... Where can I download it? Now it's probably too late to implement it on time but I'd give a try...

Titak 06-10-19 13:49

Paolone's TRNG homepage, from the "Download Page for Plugin"?
http://www.trlevelmanager.eu/ng.htm
Didn't those plugins come with MK5? :ponder:

Can't remember... :o

Thanks but I can't do much because I don't want to mess the project or the script since I'm not skilled enough and actually I can't find this plugin, I had already searched at the begin of my level (that's how I even tried to write things in C++ with the tutorial but it was too long and at the first problems I would have been surely lost, so I avoided it) but probably it's that I don't know how plugins work. Aren't plugins dll files that are meant to be installed through NG_Center?
In the SDK pack there is a "plugin_Cranes_VC2010_sources" folder with a lot of c++ files but I've no idea about which one to pick or in general how to recognize a plugin (I've only used dll files from ChocolateFan that I've put manually in the folder...).

Yes, basically.
A plugin has a couple of files included and they are installed through NG-Center.

All plugins so far, including the ones Paolone made: https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...90&postcount=2

Thanks a lot, I don't know why I haven't found them... Sorry! If I'll save time before the end of the deadline I'll try to implement something... I guess I'll have no time but, well I'll see. :)

Feder 06-10-19 22:16

I have a question about the rules... can a remake of another custom level be considered a classic? :ponder: Even if it fulfills the rules?

I don't see why not...

Feder 07-10-19 11:21

Good to know :) because I may not be able to finish the Antartica Mines level, so at least I have a backup plan... :pi:

Ohh.. haha

OK well is there a way to stop, or at least minimise this from happening?
Like a specific room layout which makes them leave the water surface..

Did you get it beta tested? :) If not, I would suggest having that done. If you would like access to the beta testing forum, you can ask one of the mods.

Once that is done, please send me the level before the deadline. If you choose to do so in advance, I would please ask that you use a file host that lasts more than 30 days, as people will need to be able to access the levels in November, when I create the voting thread and share the download links on there.

AgentXP 08-10-19 22:59

October Update
It’s now into the final month of building! If you haven’t already, it’s time to start thinking about getting your levels beta tested. If you want access to the beta testing section of the forum, please message one of the mods. (Please don’t message me for access; I’m not a mod, so I can’t help you with this! :) )

Once your level has been beta tested and fixed, please can you send me a link to your level (via PM), that is live for at least (preferably more than) 30 days, as I won’t be sharing the links on the voting thread until the start of November once all the entries are in.

Thanks, and good luck with the final building!
Agent :D

Edit: Sorry for the double-post!

Reggie 08-10-19 23:15

@Agent: Still in alpha (self testing). Hopefully reaching beta by Friday!

That lightning is perfect! :D

_TombExplorer_ 09-10-19 21:40

I know 3 weeks are left, and that means I should finish by last week in order to have my level betatested. I'm trying to work hard because I really want to get this done by the timeline :D
Don't want to show much! But here is a screen on what I'm working on right now :jmp:
https://i.imgur.com/5aEMpV5.png
I won't tell you what the use of this is :D

dinne 10-10-19 12:39

I have a question: I'm making the second part of my level, that is a ruined version where everything is exploded and broken.

I have already customized some objects (still keeping the classic feel or appearence, they aren't invented from 0), but in this second wad file I'd customize many more of them (just static "decorative" objects), that would be the same objects of the main level, but broken or fallen etc.
Would this kind of customization be too much heavy in terms of keeping loyality with the rules, if I already customized others? (I haven't created this version of the objects yet).

Looks exciting! Really hope you'll make the deadline!

@Dinne Rules say around 12 objects, though I feel this is more a guideline than a strict limit. As long as your new objects still have this classic feeling to them and it doesn't distract too much from the classic experience, I think you can get away with it.

AgentXP 10-10-19 15:38

@dinne I said 12 objects as a guide amount to keep the overall feel of the levels classic. (And to try to discourage the use of too many new HD objects) However, at the end of the day, it's up to each builder as to what they think is a classic level. So if you're happy that it feels classic, it's up to you. :)

Also ditto to what Baslakor said in the meantime :)

Screens are looking awesome peeps! :D

Uhm ok, thanks... I've truly no HD objects or textures. :)
Then I'll have some fun in breaking objects here and there. :D And textures.
Maybe I'll write anyway a reference from where I took all the objects, attached in my folder... And if they are edited.

Already posted mine I think, but why not?

XP, you plan to make another post after the deadline so we have a nice overview of all the levels? Maybe with some screenshots/title screens?

dcw123 13-10-19 10:39

OMG all these amazing title screens.. and there is mine using the default trle one haha

I was gonna make a new flyby sequence but not sure I will have time to do it now.

Looks like I'm gonna have to go for the old 'picture TGA tiles on a wall' technique with a fixed camera

_TombExplorer_ 13-10-19 11:28

This is mine, for now :D

dinne 13-10-19 14:14

Soon I'll need someone to test my level but in particular I need to watch you playing some parts, to see where you go first, what you notice first, etc.
So I'd like to find out one or two users that want to move on Discord to play my level while I watch, telling me comments and critiques in the meanwhile... Not -all- the level, just a first part is sufficient.
I'm already doing this with a friend in real life but he's going to expatriate permanently uhm -> tomorrow, so yeah I'm asking here...
Let me know and if you want I'll do the same with yours. :)
I hope to be able to finish on time, I think I will, but I'm not 100% sure... In the meanwhile let me know if you can/want via PM.
Thanks :o

Love how this looks, giving me crash bandicoot 1 (ps1) main menu vibes with a darker tone ofc.

So many of these other ones looking great also!

Can someone clarify me one thing?
What's the meaning of TBC?

I see it added to some levelnames.. and don't have an idea about it..
