The game used to be much better graphically! Why did they decide to downgrade the graphics?
It was a while since I played it, so probably I don't remember exactly how it was, it would be interesting to see a comparison.

I just checked it yesterday, and it previously wasn’t nearly as bright. Everything (on the map, at least) looks nearly blinding now.

Why would they remove those awesome music tracks lol if you didn't want music you could just turn it off in the settings menu.

I guess they wanted more isolation? :p

Boring. There's no benefit or reason to bring isolation back in 2018 other than nostalgia. Loved the music and it made the runs thrilling

I think they just gave up on Relic Run... The last time they updated the game (At least on Android) was in February 2019, and it brought so many issues, like not having music during the gameplay, bugs with the brightness... And after that, they didn't fix anything else.

More reason for me to stay on iOS 13.3.1, I guess. :o

Yeah I downloaded it last week and the game was really unstable, it crashes a lot which is really a problem for a runner like that. And I agree on the brightness of it, it's way too much. And also the downgrade in graphics makes it really ugly...

It's really a shame because it was a very good runner...

I first played about a week ago, and I'm kind of torn.

On one hand, the graphics are decent, and it's kinda fun to play on public transit, or while using the restroom.

On the other hand, there's a severe difficulty spike about....20 levels in, I think? It becomes increasingly obvious that it's one of those F2P games that's gonna do whatever it can to stop you from progressing without spending real cash.

Or maybe I'm just bad at it, who knows?

Well no offense but you may need to get better at it yes. I finished the game and unlocked every upgrades and outfit without spending real cash a few years ago. If you become really good at it and spend the coins you got in your runs wisely it's clearly a game you can finish without paying. In the unlimited runs I even did some where I got 100+ diamonds in a single run.
Once you know the tracks and dying spots, where ennemies spaws,... it's not that hard.

I played this some years ago but accidentally deleted all my progress and I just wasn't in the mood to start it all over so I never touched it again... :o

That's totally fine, I'm not upset. To be honest, the only mobile games I've put much time into are Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Mystic Messenger. I'm aware that Relic Run's heavily based on Temple Run, but having never played that game, this stuff's all new to me.

I guess I'll put some more time into practicing. :)

It is just sooo annoying that the game kept deleting my progress on my phone.
So I've recently been playing it again through Bluestacks on my PC. :D

I was thinking of installing it again, but at the same time I feel like I don't want to because the last time I checked, it wass't updated for like a year and a half.

Last time I played this game was almost 2 years ago I think? And even when I did play it, I downloaded the modded APK that gives me stuff to skip the annoying grind which is not my cup of tea. If I didn't use the mod I probably never would have bothered to finish the game.

I downloaded it again these days and I was so shocked by how the graphics suffered a downgrade... Or is just the brightness? I don't know, but it's horrible. They need to fix this ASAP.

I played the game a few years back and stopped because of the horrible upgrade and items-system. It just stopped being fun at some point.

Yes, the mod offers these things:

- Unlock all guns and upgrade to max
- Unlock all outfits and upgrade to max
- Infinite Revive
- Infinite Kevlar Vest

Just like you, after some time the whole progression became a huge bore for me and I swapped to the modded version which allowed me to actually play the game till the end while skipping the annoying stuff the original game has to extend the playtime artificially.

From what I know, the mod wasn't updated past v1.11.110. Which might be a good thing since I see people say that the latest update (v1.11.112?) ruined a lot of things?

The graphics took a turn for the worse after one of the last updates. Such a shame. It looked so much better before.

I've been playing these past few weeks. Pretty much stuck on level 116. I have more trouble with those damn spiders than I do with the ice Oni :vlol:.

I download around three weeks ago.

Loving it so much, as previously I haven't even finished it. Now I am planning to and I am in love with Sahara levels.

I do have a problem however, and that is the music background only plays when I am on the map It is toned down to very minimum you can barely hear it during game play.

Now I am on samsung; previously I used to play it on Iphone and I didn't have this problem; and yes, I remembr on my Iphone the graphics were much better.

Yes, and it was running perfectly on my phone without any performance issues. If they thought about changing graphics (to worse), I guess it could be better to put a graphics quality option so the players could choose.

What exactly is the version of the app that did the graphic downgrade? I see that the latest for Android is 1.11.112. Did it happen in that last release or before?

I really don't know if it happen before this latest version because I didn't have the game installed on my phone for a long time. About the graphics, I'll try my best to explain: It seems it's too bright now, like all the contrast/shadows were removed, something like that... The lighting is terrible now.

I actually appreciate this change, i haven't tested it since the latest update but some previous patch had me unable to run it due to massive lag, however options are always nice since there are those who have newer phones.

So since my phone had an update, the game crashes after a short time playing a level. I guess level 116 has now become the last level I'll get to play *sigh.

I just checked the game, the graphics were downgraded but there's no increased performance at all, actually, it felt even worse. :p

Hmm...haven't played for a while, tried now and it crashes as soon as the loading screens comes up. What a pity.

I still have it on my phone, and when I had it on my Windows phone, I got all the Xbox Achievements 🤓

Even though I've already finished it, I still play it from time to time.

It feels like a copy of Temple Run but BETTER. I never actually looked into it, but the similar name and gameplay made me think the Temple Run devs had a hand in creating it.

Lara looks a bit off though, and for awhile, randomly, her guns were bugged (pointing in the wrong directions) until I switched weapons. 😂

I just re-installed it (on Android) to give it another try, and yeah, I had this impression, too.

Additionally, the game already crashed on me during a run. That's unacceptable for a game where resource management is everything. Immediately uninstalled again.

I've played it before, but I simply installed it again yesterday. Cool game but the only thing that bothers me is Lara's face. It doesn't even looks like Lara at all, but a random girl wearing Lara's clothes. Still, cool game.

This always bugged me about it, too. She *almost* looks like Lara, or someone who kinda resembles her just cosplaying as her. Ever so slightly off.

I like Relic Run. A decent implementation of the old.

I used to play that thing a lot on my old Xperia Z5, a lot.
This was 2nd after minions run and i remember being in the freakin 80s in levels. God if I enjoyed it.

And when I got my XZ Premium in 2019, I thought to give it a go. And this is where I hated it.
Music doesn't work anymore, annoying ads it didn't have before, there was STILL no online progress save (that was the case fir years so, what gives?).
I got annoyed by the ads and uninstalled it after 10 mins because of it. Oh and the missing music too. Music I liked!
