Oh, so it seems to be more in the positive side. I've never seen this game in here, I guess it was also an USA exclusive as Xenoblade, my only option would be ordering it online.

In Europe it was released normally but in the US it was a Gamestop exclusive...Still it's worth hunting it down because overall,i think its positives far outweight its negatives.
Btw you should also get Xenoblade (if you haven't already).Best JRPG of the generation,it makes FFXIII look like a complete joke IMO.

I so, so want the Last Story, but refuse to buy anything other than the special edition (I love Mistwalker) but every time I go to get it something else financial gets in the way. One day... :(:(

She's a female Cloud, only far less interesting. Which is saying something because Cloud didn't even have his own personality and was pretty bland himself.

And he was the main character of a much,much,much better FF game than XIII (IMO).

I don't agree. I used to think of her as a female Cloud when I was angry for not having a PS3 or 360 to play it, and the thought of never being able to get one. It led me to bash XIII and its characters, mere prejudice born from childish sad thoughts. Then I played XIII, met the characters, and they proved me so wonderfully wrong <3

Oh, great! :) Hecatoncheir is a nice boss and an excellent summon. It deserves some praise.

Don't get me wrong, XIII did do some good things. But to me the gameplay was a major step back, the story was all over the place, only two of the characters were interesting (Fang & Vanille), and the art-style is by far the weakest in the series.

I would have enjoyed it more if it didn't feel so repetitive and the story wouldn't have gone from boring, to interesting, to good, to boring again.

I know, I get what you mean, don't worry. It's just that I feel the opposite :p But I do understand your point of view and the reasons you provide.

I've always thought Lightning to look like a female Cloud, although I haven't played Final Fantasy VII in 7 or 8 years so I couldn't do an accurate comparison.
I agree though, at the start I didn't like a couple of the characters, but as I went on through the game I started to warm to them a little more: even Snow :p

I quite enjoyed the story to be honest. I thought it was one of it's good points, albeit quite hard to understand on a first play through. You'll hate me for saying this, but I found Vanille and Fang's history to be quite boring originally until I actually understood what their purpose was.
I think I'll agree with the art style though, I thought XII has a pretty outstanding set of maps, areas etc. In terms of game-play I partially agree. I didn't like the linearity of the game, but it's definitely my favorite battle system so far.

The whole reason I put Penelo is because I find even a character as terrible as her better than Lightning. :p
