Shadow does look much better on a proper TV. It has the best graphics out of the whole series to be honest. A lot of small details are there that you just can't see without a proper screen.

I wish the character models still had the quality of rise's tbh, (like Lara's)

Thats truly the only thing that shadow lacks in terms of visuals :( ... Wish they have kept the quality of the character models from rise too but they may have done it for better performance though ...

The difference is barely noticeable, unless you play in 4K in a big screen though. Her model was only downgraded to 2K

You mean the difference of the character models ? What I have noticed with SOTTR is when I compare Lara from rise with shadow Lara the skin looks a bit flat and it lacks details. Maybe the new lighting system has done that and it meshed up the shaders. Also what I have noticed is that the blood , dirt etc in Lara's skin and clothes looked much more realistic in rise . I dunno why they changed that with shadow ...

I couldn't find similar poses but I think it shows what I've meant :)

I am seeing this on my ps4 pro right now. I am not good at technical stuff. So I dont know if 3840-2160p is exactly 4k or it has to say 4000. But that is my resolution right now with YUV 420 whatever that means and in this photos and in games also compared to Shadow the details in Rise indeed looks much better .
Edit: talking about Lara details ofc.

It's very much noticeable tbh. Especially with the bump and specular maps.

Rise did have issues with lara "glowing" in dark environments due to her specular maps. But overall I liked the detail she had.

Shadow feels on many places very rushed and unpolished, but Rise...man Rise is such a beautiful game.

What i dont get is the "why"?
Why it was in this state when Rise was so nicely polished.

There was no new console around the corner, the license didnt run out or anything.
There was nothing that seemed to force their hand to rush out the game.
Its not like a yearly release or so, they should have had the time to polish it.
