If it is an option, it can't be crap like it was in tra. bUT i THINK THAT WAS BECAUSE LEDGE HOPING AND MANUAL GRAB DON'T GO WELL TOGETHER.

That was the nature of the way Crystal made their TR games. It was a valiant effort, and I salute them for including it (I've never played Anni without manual grab enabled), but all that scripting didn't mix well with trying to give the player more control.

Not to mention climbing was really just hopping between ledges, so you're essentially holding an extra button for no real purpose. ;/

Too many magazines to sort through. Somebody just ask Karl. But i remember it clearly. Manual grab WAS confirmed.

:yah: Manual grab!

(it's the little things in life)

I believe we can see the manual grab in the E3 demo. There's the platform she have to jump on right before she's being attacked by the scavenger. And then in the leaked demo when she's doing the wall scramble she grabs the roof with only one hand so the player had to push extra button to lift her up.

We've always had to push a button to pull ourselves onto a ledge.

The wall scramble only happens if we hit the wall of the edge we're trying to get, but are too low, so we press the jump button to scramble a certain distance. If the distance doesn't permit, then we're dead.

I don't see how it implies manual grab.

Manual grab is if you're like, in the air.. not pulling yourself up.

Watching the E3 demo, the part where Brian pulls Lara up onto the edge before she's attatcked for the first time, it seems to quick for him to have pressed jump then hit a grab button and pulled up. It also seems very unfitting...

Well it was also very unfitting how he jumped off of that ledge onto the ground :P

I feel like its probably a jump and it grabs automatically (depending on whether you aim accurately) and you press another button to pull up.

I do however, recall reading that it was manual somewhere...probably just imagining things though.
