Lukass 05-02-12 22:36

I have odd question too. Do you find the light coming from the torch strong enough? I mean she has such big torch with a bloody huge flame of fire, but it doesn't make almost any light.

especially from 4:00 mins....

The greenish colour of the sea water. As for the caves, The refection from the water on the ground and the orange/redish fire combines to create a slight purplish colour.

Well in general the shirt is more purple in the game than in the CGI trailer, so clearly the lighting engine or rendering or what ever, is different. :/

That's all really.

Mikky 05-02-12 22:38

The game isn't as polished as it will be when the game gets released, so maybe they'll fix these major, super-important lighting problems we're discussing. :ton:

But the shirt isn't made of glass or plastic so what difference does it make what colors the surroundings are? It won't be able to reflect enough on the shirt to make such a different color change, right? :p

Well then again, VisualWorks were the ones who made the trailer so I guess a minor difference is expected. Key word there being minor. :p

This is what I thought in the first place - the fact that the graphics are so different and that it was made by different people would explain it. So the shirt really is just gray, I guess. :p

But it is a light colour. But like i said, the reflection was amped up as a tribute to the classics.

larafan25 05-02-12 22:51

Apparently they were very close to just having the shirt green too.

CD were going to leave the shirt green/ blue or whatever colour the classic outfit was.

Linoshi Croft 05-02-12 22:55

There is one thing I really don't like about the demo we have....Lara knows more than we do, it's just something that doesn't make sense considering we are meant to be experience everything as she does.

Kinda glad that they decided with the gray. It suits her better.

There's a day of cutscene before that which explains everything, but it wasn't featured in the demo.

@Larafan25: source?

Linoshi Croft 05-02-12 22:58

Source? I've not heard that stated...there is a cutscene with her voice over, not showing us what happened and how she knows these things though.

Listen to everything she is saying and how she reacts...

For example, "What did he do to you" , "Oh no, he must of heard me" she's ran into him before so therefore has knowledge that the player doesn't...Plus, her reaction to first waking up is all off...it's like she wakes up expecting to be within her surrounding not nesserily hanging upside down though. If I survived a sinking ship and woke up in her position I'd freaking be screaming and freaking out.

larafan25 05-02-12 23:00

Bitchez dun get source.

All I know is I think Brian said it...and I think it was his voice as opposed to text.

There is cutscene. The whole Day 1 is cutscene we haven't seen yet.

leglion 05-02-12 23:02

^ Yup. Can't remember the sources but multiple magazines said that and even some mods from this forum witnessed it i believe.

Wouldn't that cutscene be on the ship? In all the interviews they've said the ship sinks and she wakes up hanging upside down in the cave there is no gap where she's doing something different...unless someone can show me where they have said different.

No-one have seen the Day 1 cutscene yet, but we know it does exist. Can't remember the source neither, but it was stated several times.

Hard to tell, but she deffo know about the scavengers.

The leaked script has Lara talking in the ship in a video log, so perhaps it is on the ship?

But there is one full day of cutscenes.

Yes they have. They even described some tidbits of it. I remember the ending. It ended with Lara being hit over the head and being dragged into the cave and then day 2 starts.

That doesn't mean they saw all the cutscenes before...

That's news to me actually. Never heard of it. I know that Day 2 begins with black screen and sounds of a fight between the woman which Lara will find dead and the scavengers.

Day 1 is just 1 cutscene. It makes no sense to have a cutscene right after a cutscene, sure a break in time, but that's still part of the same cutscene. Cutscenes are divided by gameplay which doesn't start until day 2.

I don't think they say all of day 1, that's all I'm saying.

leglion 05-02-12 23:12

Well i assumed that they did because they knew details about it but we'll never know for sure.

@LArafan25: Do you remember when some people fromt he forum were chosen to play the game including a mod or 2 and they came back and reported? DO you remember the thread because that's where i got my info from.

larafan25 05-02-12 23:14

All I know of those who saw the game at CD, is that the demo opened with the player being dragged in first person, as they blacked in and out of consciousness and the credits apparently rolled.

But there is a whole set of cutscene before this which is essentially Day 1.

edit: Here...

That reminds me of Portal..

Lukass 05-02-12 23:19

I can't remember the source, but it's as I said. Why would I lie? lol
When the Day 2 starts, the player can see nothing, but black screen and there are some creepy sounds. If I remember well, we can hear the woman screaming, the scavengers shouting at her something...and than Lara will open her eyes.

larafan25 05-02-12 23:19

^I thought it was the sounds of something being dragged across wet sediment and a rope being pulled tight.

You might not be lying on purpose but maybe your memory is blurred, like myself. I'm not quite sure whether i saw that or not...

Oh so that's why she wakes up all startled, gasping and stuff?

In-game, it looks like a purplish-gray:

http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/.../screen024.jpg

But in the CGI trailer, it clearly has a hint of green:

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7006/6...0f6a7c06_b.jpg

So, is it just gray and CD made it green just for the trailer or what? I know, weird question, but I wanna know! :p

It's grey...But does alter to lighting.
To me,however...It just appears a very very light blue... a grey blue..
And her outfit as a whole, Is the Classic Outfit. The original Lara Croft outfit. If her pants were replaced with shorts, Bingo.

Well I'd think the GI article would have mentioned it...
