Any idea?

My guess is that it's a multiplayer map that takes place on the Endurance.

Tear 11-01-13 13:24

^ Now THAT would be awesome.;)

This just sounds like the Chasm. You would think they would add some info that's unique to that map. Unless there isn't.

Do you guys ever buy games? Pre-order exclusives aren't anything new, i've learned to deal with it.

Steven_1379 11-01-13 20:45

idk if we get the collector's in PR yet

MangelinaJolie 11-01-13 20:52

I think Shanty Town is included in all launch copies of the game and isn't necessarily from pre-ordering. I could be wrong, though. I still haven't even pre-ordered from anywhere yet because all of this is a huge, confusing mess.

It's just a multiplayer character. I would be REALLY mad if they would do that with Story DLC (COUGH UNDERWORLD COUGH) :D

I don't normally pre-order. :p Most things shoveled out these days is garbage and not worth the initial price.

I've only even pre-orded one game before and that wasn't plagued with a million incentives the only incentives they have is in game skins which don't effect anything and one mini random comic book.

Tombraider is being pathetic honestly. It puts me off pre-ordering if anything.

Mikky 11-01-13 21:11

I wonder where Philip got this information that it's "permanently" exclusive?

Steven_1379 11-01-13 21:11

everything about them screams ''im a MS microsoft exclusive bitch'' but they act like they are a multiplataform developer -_______-

cus late at nigth they get a strange pleasure thinking about all the ps3 TR fanatics going mad of the content they shall never get

If it wasn't I'm sure they would have specifically said it's timed.

Oh, so you're just assuming? I thought so. You should at least say in your post that it's your opinion. It can create confusion. :p

Q&A session #10

Quote:

JaxGames: I Was wondering if we can crouch whenever we want or is it just scripted events?

Karl Stewart: The cover system is actually something we’re immensely proud of. Lara will automatically crouch down next to waist-high objects whenever she’s in the presence of enemies – whether they are aware of her or not. When there’s no immenent threat then lara will not take cover. This not only facilitates stealth play, but keeps the player from having to pop in and out of cover and instead focus on combat.
Quote:

Awestruck: Will there be any hub spaces that you enter where combat doesn't factor in? In other words, are there any hubs that’s' sole focus is exploration and traversal?

Karl Stewart: The frequency varies, but the hub spaces all have some degree of combat. The night hub, for example, has a few stray scavengers that you’ve seen, augmented by a pack of roaming wolves that have taken advantage of the near-desolate location. This area is ripe for exploration and traversal. We’ve teased bits and pieces of the scavenger stronghold hub, and it’s fairly intuitive that combat will be much more frequent when infiltrating the base of the enemy. That’s not to say you can’t find pockets of peace while behind enemy lines. They did build their base on ancient ruins, after all.
Quote:

Fear Effect: Are you making another CGI trailer? When will we see the full version of Turning Point Trailer?

Karl Stewart: Free question, as I don’t count questions that answer with “no.” We’re not going to feature any new CGI trailers moving forward in the campaign – that was an incredibly ambitious and lengthy collaboration with Visual Works which allowed us to make a big splash in announcing the game. As to the “full version,” I assume you’re speaking of the cut bits from the Turning Point trailer. They weren’t so much scenes as small slices of visuals that didn’t fit in the trailers narrative. As such, we couldn’t just pop them back in and release an extended cut of the trailer – It wouldn’t make sense.
Quote:

Klona: Q1 - Is it possible to revisit areas without the base-camps, like walk all the way back?

Karl Stewart: Yes and no. Some areas you can traverse backwards to basecamps you’ve already visited. Others you’ll need to fast travel back to in order to access them. For example, Lara uses a zipline to descend from the radio tower after the end of the preview build we recently toured. She can’t zipline back up to the tower and then the basecamp at its foot, but rather would need to fast travel back should she want to explore that area. Sometimes the terrain just doesn’t allow for Lara to move backwards.
Quote:

Blackseed: When an enemy is killed, does the body stay there or it disappears in a couple of seconds?

Karl Stewart: Bodies stay in the area until Lara leaves a space – animals and humans alike.
Quote:

TranceTrouble: Are all tombs so easy to find, are they marked with chalk on the rocks nearby, or was it just the one during the new demo?

Karl Stewart: Most tombs aren’t as easy to find as the first we showed off in our preview build. We need a learning curve that gives players a taste of what they should be looking for later in the game, so that one is a bit more visible than others.
Quote:

AoD Fan: Are the locations on the map shown from the beginning or only when she visited that place already?

Karl Stewart: You can see the size and scope of the island via the map form the very beginning, but specific areas like hubs and basecamps only become visible as you uncover them.
Quote:

Ivana KC: Is there any option to turn automatic aiming on (like it was in old games)?

Karl Stewart: There is not an option to turn on automatic aiming. We want to utilize free aim from this point forward to ensure combat feels like there is something at stake.
Quote:

AireTam: Will the player be able to customize the control scheme? Specifically, will there be the menu option to invert the horizontal and vertical aiming axis as well as the camera axis?

Karl Stewart: Yes, there is an option to invert the camera axis!

In Eidos forums' official thread for questions, there was at least one person who asked about white ledges but don't lose hope, they might answer it in the upcoming podcast.

Nice questions and answers. There are a lot of nitpicky things answered that I wanted to know such as being able to walk back to areas or disappearing bodies, so it's a nice Q&A. :p

I don't care anymore tbh.
If they wanted to speak they could have done that before. And if you ask me i think that we deserve an answer, one simple answer.

My question... has been answered!
It's a bummer though, I hoped we can travel back at least between the side tombs.
But if we go into a side tomb that gets us somewhere far in the game, it'll be blocked by something we won't be able to access due to a missing gadget for example.

Best question, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the answer. Maybe it that reduces just to certain spots of the game, like because of explosions that block the way back or sorts, I wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't like the fact of some limits make the "open world feeling" a bad ilussion.

I bet she will, but tbh, I don't care. I've seen on a new multiplater footage that players can run, I wonder if Lara can do the same as solo. (Not walking fast, runing like on Underworld)

Richard_Croft 11-01-13 22:00

I think I've read somewhere that this game has a sprint button. I hope it's true :D

There's one in the multiplayer, I've not seen it used or mentioned in the single player.

Richard_Croft 11-01-13 22:06

If it's used in the multiplayer, we certainly have it in the single player mode

Dark_Messiah 11-01-13 22:07

I played the game a couple of times already, and I did not notice any kind of sprint button if you are talking about Tomb Raider. (not in the hands-on in 2011 of the cave they first showed (pre-alpha) , nor in the deer hub (release candidate/late beta))

We have a cover system in single player, which isn't apperently present in multiplayer. So, I don't think that's strictly right.

Richard_Croft 11-01-13 22:13

So this moves are actually scripted? OMG, everything in this game is scripted... :o
