Nice!! What are your future plans after you finish the Switch port? Are you going to continue working on the other platforms, or move on to TR2?

Also just for the sake of curiosity, would it be possible to port OpenLara to PS4 and X1 too? Or does that require some devkit only available to closed companies?

Awesome job man!!

The water is so beautiful in your engine...
I wonder if it is possible to use HD Textures?
Imagine if we merge our projects?
I'm working on a TRIII HD Remaster:

It would be so awesome to see your engine with this textures! :jmp:

It seems that feature is eventually planned. There are HD textures made by fans injected with other tools into the original games.

I'm curious how the feature might be implemented.

Some games feature "override" folders, where files from there are loaded instead of base game files when they are present in the override folder. Wouldn't this be the simplest solution?

Amazingly enough, the XBox One is a fairly open platform. Any retail XBox can be turned into a development kit. You can then release your homebrew creation to others who can run it so long as they boot their XBox into development mode as well.

Port will be ready as soon as I get PS4 and XB1 with custom firmware with the ability to make homebrew projects. But for now you can use XB1 browser to play web version :)

OpenLara has texture overriding code, but for now it's just an experimental thing.

Nice job!

Fun little tidbit, I bet I hold the record for making lara scream the most in a fall. Growing up my friends and I discussed how in the pyramid level Lara would scream 3 times before hitting the lava pit.

With alternating between "o" and "shift" (that is dozy on and dozy off) one can make Lara jump through the ceiling and well above the level.

Haven't really checked but I don't think openlara has a terminal velocity threshold? :)

Poor Lara, she'll just hit the ground that much harder.

Now OpenLara works on Nintendo Switch as homebrew app! 8)

You don't need a hack or custom firmware on an XB1.

Can you also play from the browser on PS4?
