Why she says:"I hate tombs"?

After watching gameplays here and there of Reboot + Rise, I've decided to watch entirely the full movie of the Reboot2013.

There is a scene when Reboot Lara finds the tomb of a corpse, where it was located the spirit of Himiko. I've watched it in italian and in this scene she says:"I hate tombs".

Why they decided to make her say this sentence?
Maybe in Rise she changed her mind in the meanwhile she changed her face, and starts to love tombs? I haven't watched the entire Rise movie.

I am clearly a strict Core fan and in this section I'm not coherent. I don't want to start a Core vs Crystal thread and I want only to know about that statement.

irony1
ˈʌɪrəni/

It's a gentle ironic moment...

I find it humorous... and it also always reminds me of the famous Indiana Jones moment when he says he hates snakes.

Indy hates snakes. Lara hates tombs.

It's kinda funny. Without being cheesy wise-cracking, which I applaud.

I actually smiled when she said it. and I think that's the reaction they were aiming for with that line.

I've watched it in italian, it seemed very serious:

Maybe this is the reason.
Italian voices in movies and videogames always sucked a lot and it's not a mystery.
If there is an italian user that watched it maybe he/she had my same question.

Ok, all solved.
Oh and don't be so arrogant because I don't like it, thanks.

Because she's clearly not a Tomb Raider. Despite the title of the game.

Honestly, I've never liked this sentence. It felt rather insulting and totally cringeworthy, like they really tried so hard to make it appear an hilarious remark but miserably failed. "Oh look Lara Croft says she hates tombs, how funny is that ahaha" No.

Because you're italian and you heard it in italian too. Maybe it's the italian version only that is so serious in that sentence. (I suck in listening english and so I don't try to find the scene in english because it's useless for me; I wouldn't track the right meaning).

I don't see anyone being arrogant

Maybe translations in videogames tend to sound more exagerated. I remember when I saw this cutscene in Spanish, Lara also sounded deadly serious in the way she said she hated tombs.

To be fair, I played TR2013 using the original VA with English subtitles since I'm not a big fan of italian dubs, and regardless of the tone I simply didn't appreciate that line and what it -supposedly- stands for.
