I don't think it's uncommon to see the character you play as in the game in the first concept arts/leaked concept arts.... :p

The reboot was so Lara-centric. They can keep using Lara as the face for the future campaigns, so they don't have to hire fame hungry and overly expensive girls anymore, but let the game speak for itself next time.
