Have you tried converting the files into .JPG, or any other file format ? If not..

CLICKY < Download software, follow instructions on website, and then open them up in Photoshop .

Hope that helps :)

Thanks george_croft, but when I try open the *.raw file with the "ReaConverter Pro", the program do not read the image

When I try open the *.raw file "china.raw" the program put:

0 x 0 pixel
16777216 colors (24 bit)
300 x 300 dpi
File: 54kb Men: 0 bytes

If I convert the file in other format, the program create a empty file.

Don't use those programs, Many Tools actually made for extracting things from PSX Games (I used a program before to extract .fmv files from the TR Games but I'm wracking my brain to remember what its called)
Search for PSX Tools relating to Images/Media ;)

I managed to extract the loading screens from the first Tomb Raider (PSX).

For this I first used the RNC ProPack to unpack the RAW files. Note that this is a DOS command-line program, so you might have to use DOSBox depending on your Windows version.

Then I used PSicture to open the unpacked RAW files with the following settings:
Width: 384
Height: 256
Bits per pixel: 16

The loading screens have a wrong aspect ratio, hence you should rescale them to 384x288 (4:3).

In Tomb Raider 2 another compression algorithm is used for the RAW files. As the files don't have a header I don't have a clue how to extract them at the moment.

Edit: I now know that it's not another compression algorithm but that the file headers are missing in TR2.

Thanks you very much! I uploaded the extracted pics from the English and Japanese versions on the first message :D

Cheers :D

The compression algorithm used on TRs1-3 loading screens is RNC propack as found by me long ago.

TR4-5 is just raw image data.

TR2-3 cannot be extracted using the official RNC pro pack tools because the format is customized slightly.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to extract them since the PC ones are higher quality anyway.

The reason for extracting the loading screens from the PSX version of Tomb Raider 1 and 2 is, that most of them are not in the PC version.
