Tomb Raider Braid Mod(Now Avaliable For Android)
 

Hello eveyone. Finally i have completed this mod and i'm so happy because playing Lara with braid in TR1 is my one of the biggest dreams. I started this mod months ago but i couldn't do so much things at those times. But with the help of some of some great people i can finally release this mod. Lara's hair and her torso were combined by The Great Chi. He helped a lot in this project. It's the real hero of it. All hail to him.:D
I've great news for those following that mod. Sardoc has made a great job and fix the seperating braid problem. Now that braid and her head look combined perfectly. And Lara isn't the only one who has braid. Atlantean Lara has also her Atlantean braid.
New Features
Some texture problems fixed.
PSX uzi sounds added.
Atlantean Imposter has braid as well.
Manor outfit has been fixed.

The Great Chi: He created THE Lara i need. Without him there would be no braid mod.
Sardoc:He revised the mod added great features to the mod. Without him there would be no proper braid mod. He did a great job.
croftyboy: Although he isn't active on the from lately he is one my closest friends and he helped me a lot too. He also created the faceless Lara.:D

Android Version
download
Copy the obb file into your Android/obb folder.
Go to the Tomb Raider and Unfinished Business folder and download it from there.
Copy the files into the DATA. In order to reach the data in Steam, GOG and gidierre's version you need to open tombeng with a program that can open bin files.
I will add my faceless Lara too.:D

Just paste them into the TOMBRAID folder.
And lastly i tested it with Glidos. So i highly recommend you to play it via Glidos.
The reason why i didn't upload video is that i can't have my computer atm it's at the service. ı had to use someone else's computer to mod. But tomorrow i my computer will be back.

Not working for me. I tried it with the steam version and Gidierre's 1.7.3 installer with no luck :(

Can you send an ss of your TR1 Steam folder. There are two iso files in it and they contain data files. but i don't remember their name. but i can help you if you send an ss.

I really want to see (in-game) Lara Croft with a braid :).

These screenshots are from Gidierre installer which I would perfer to use over the steam version :)

Unfortunetly i can't upload any images cause i don't have my computer. And i'm using tablet atm. And ToMbRaIdErxFtW you should open tombeng with iso program like poweriso and when you open it you'll se the data file. And after replacing it with my data you could play with braid. I advise you to backup your tombeng isos.

It wont let me add any files to the file you mentioned when I opened it with Daemon tools. it says I need aditional space on the disk.

You can't change anything with daemon tools. I use Poweriso for these things. You should try with poweriso too. just open tombeng with poweriso, replace the data and save it.

Look at the first page guys links and thread have been updated. If you want to use newest version just download the mod again. If you have modded tr1 home outfit and shotgun torso with braid i can use it for the mod.:D

I mean, its great to see Lara finally have a braid on the first game like she was suppose to but because I've never seen it, it looks weird lol.

Archfiend has made a nice job of this, texturing and putting braided Lara in TR1 levels for you to play :tmb:

The braid (ponytail) is a fixed one, rather than an active one like TR2's version, though the whole ponytail moves along with the movements of Lara's torso.

TR1 Lara with braid kinda looks like an alien. :vlol:

I think she looks pretty fine, though I wonder if there's any bit of code left for the braid in the engine. Imagine making it possible to fully restore the original braid from the prototype demo.

The braid would've looked fine like that. Why they removed it is quite baffling.

^ I agree. I especially wonder why didn't they animate it manually if dynamic movement was too complex back then. Simple animation would make it look good enough without stressing hardware.

There is a object called 'stick' in the Lost Valley level file. It isn't a stick, it is actually the remains of the braid. Clever how Core called it stick, they must of hoped no-one would ever discover it was the braid.

Is it called stick in TRViewer? Because if so then it's not an official name of the object. The author of TRViewer called them all by himself. For example that's why TRViewer calls pushable blocks "movable cubical blocks".

Yes I did use TRViewer, either way it looks identical to the braid. And there is no item that looks like it in the level. It is a static, non animated item though.

Interesting i haven't noticed it before, will definitely look for it. Btw i finally have the torso with shotgun but this occurs when texturing:

I really hate this program.:D

It'd be impossible to animate it is such a way that it would work fine with all possible animation transitions. Even if it was, it'd be tons and tons of animating work, about as much as adding two extra limbs. Optimizing the engine so hair physics wouldn't lag was the most feasible option and they didn't have time for that. Anything else would've been more time consuming for a worse looking outcome.

For the Steam and GOG and gidierre's version you need to open tombeng file with an iso program like power iso and then copy my DATA in it.
And Sardoc because i didn't combine shotgun torso with braid i had merged the normal torso as a shotgun one, so after taking shotgun it didn't show up on her back. And yesterday i fixed this problem by merging the shotgun one.
And i updated the link new version is ready. :D

She looks good in the braid. Though as good as she looks with the braid, i prefer lara without the braid in TR1.

Can somone please help. Im trying to insall the braid mod by following the instructions given. when I open tombeng with poweriso and move the new data folder over and replace it works fine but when I try to save it it says ot failed because tombenb is open by another program. I cant figure out what that program is. I've restarted my PC and that has not helped. Any help is appreciated :)

Okay i fixed your problem. Since i tried it only for glidos and ios version i thought you can copy the data with power iso without a problem. After you said it didn't work i tried it and it gave the same error. But UltraISO doesn't cause any problem when copying. You can try it out. I tried it and it worked for me.
