OOOOOOHHHHHH!

So TR won't be the cover story, but will be featured in the magazine!

Sweet, this sounds plausible.

Well I'm sure they could do some stupid things, but I hope you're right and we get TR info in magazines in May.

yeah but if they want make hype before E3, more make sense some possible ign, gamespot, eurogamer etc. exclusive preview or gametrailers first exclusive gameplay trailer reveal.......on the magazines is too late

Alexander990 25-04-12 22:03

The cause of extension in releasing new stuff might also be the leaked footage. Perhaps they really wanted to release it but since it was leaked, they refused.

If TR is in magazines in May it would be the same time last year that TR was in magazines.

That's silly of them, if it's the case.

If they were going to release that full footage they should have even though it was leaked, so people could properly see the footage in HD and full length the way it was meant to be seen.

I also don't understand the purpose of showing that content behind closed doors to tons of people and allowing them to talk about it, yet not releasing it.

This is what we always thought :tmb:. We could see the gameplay in HD and we could also see the wolf attacking Lara, we could see all the way up to the wolf's lair. But, because it leaked, we got nothing.

We're not that far from 10th May when the June magazine issues are going to be out, right? I know that when you want to pre-order the next issue, you go to the magazine website and there you can usually see the next cover. Hell, it's like the time they should reveal the covers. I don't expect TR to cover magazines, but there could be at least a sign Tomb Raider on the cover, if there's exclusive info inside right? I want to see it :pi: I wanna know if we're getting something in May :'( I can't anymore...:'( :vlol:

Omg... if Tomb Raider isn't in any magazines for June I am going to hit someone.

That is why i assume that it WAS actually intended to get released.

Well it makes no sense (on CD's part) to not release it just because it was leaked.

I mean they want it off the net, yet won't release it properly.

but we saw only a few minutes what was leaked, not full demo what was present behind close door..so what is this, then ??punishment ??This is the behavior for fans ??this is "thanks" from CD ?

The only way it could look in this scenario would be punishment, however they'd be punishing the wrong people and I highly doubt it's punishment.

From what i remember Karl wasn't very happy about that, he even mentioned a website that constantly puts the footage or something. TO ME it sounds like this " you broke the rules, you get nothing" because the ones that were shown it behind closed doors were hardcore fans (I think) and so as we.
Well, I might be wrong but we cant deny it either.

P.s
That vid is on net right now huhuhu :mis::P

Stevo505 25-04-12 22:22

Leaks happen all the time, but companies don't keep things from the public just because of leaks.

Lukass 25-04-12 22:22

And yes, the leaked footage is on the internet and no1's bothered :pi:

We (or at least I) hope so.

amiro1989 25-04-12 23:41

I know for a fact that Eidos Montréal has been giving all their E3 titles a rough QA session, in the past weeks, including titles from other main Square-Enix studios. Really long QA sessions, lasting complete weeks. I'm sure this mean they're gearing up for E3.

And I'm sure TR is part of that. ;)

When did we ever get to see video footage to go with all the pre- release screenshots seen for the previews of the last nine games? Or any game for that matter. It should be pretty obvious why the media get to see it and we do not.

It's not just the media.

They showed the Night Hub area to fans in Germany and I think Paris too.

The fans came back and spoke about what they saw.

Stevo505 25-04-12 23:48

Why the balls don't we get to see that? We're fans too D:

I'm very curious what's going to be aussie500's answer to this^ D:

Perhaps by releasing it to the public they feel as though they're being a one-trick pony but the thing is, that demo shows more platforming and isolation. In fact an article was written which said they probably should have shown that demo first.

Aside from it not being final product, I don't see why they couldn't release it.

I am willing to bet they won't ever, as once the next wave starts I'm sure it will all be new stuff.

I meant larafan25's posts. Yeah, there are people who have seen the footage and more and they are TRF members, lol. Why the hell we weren't allowed to see it? :/

Though I don't think they were allowed to take pictures of it either, so it must have to do with the public seeing the actual content...but I still don't get it.

They signed the NDA or I dunno how they call it. They were not supposed to talk about it, but they did.

They weren't supposed to talk about it?

We've heard every detail about the demo from multiple sources...yet they don't show it by now.

Yes, I think they've signed it. But then again, Gabi saw that footage too and wrote an article...um, it doesn't make sense to me now :/ IDK.

Oh, no not mistaken or wrong.

It's the night hub, someone from CD coined the phrase.

It's a hub at night, I'm sure we'll see a few hubs at night.

But the name suggests it's always night in that particular area. I thought the game definitely definitely definitely had dynamic time?

The game's time won't change if you stand still. But as you progress through the story the time of day will change and as the time of day changes, if you travel back to a hub which was previously nighttime, it will then be daytime and take on whatever changes have occurred since you were last there.

Jak and Daxter managed a day and night cycle which changed while you stood still without feeling like forever amounts of time were passing, but CD are so obsessed with their story so I'm sure we'll know when a day goes by.

Horus-Goddess 26-04-12 00:23

That kinda makes me sad really. I wanted to be able to stand around and watch night fall or the sun rising etc.

:(

Or a storm pass even? dynamic weather too?

Then this apparent 'night hub' has to be wrongly named because there's no way to guarantee that, when a player reaches it, it'll be night time. Unless they purposely stick a bit of story/cutscene in at the start as you enter the area, a bit like some of the night missions in GTA/AC, just to cue it.

It sounds to me that any passing time will happen during moments of moving from one area to another, during passages where the sky etc. is conveniently hidden. If that's the case, that's a cheat to me and it isn't dynamic time. If I spend an hour running around the same area, proper dynamic time will see the daylight change to dusk and then to night.

Or...

They could go with the method used in games like Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Time would be dynamic when you were in the central hub and connecting pathways, but when you entered a village or a dungeon, time would freeze.

I'd have liked that too, it adds depth to the atmosphere. Time moving forwards in stages isn't the same.

I would have loved that too, I'm sure we all would.

But of course, all is lost at the hands of the narrative.

We need a certain weather at a certain time to convey a certain mood/ emotion.

I'm not sure why thought couldn't have it constantly change but enforce some weather to convey an emotion when necessary...but I guess it's sort of similar to what we have now.

Stevo505 26-04-12 00:26

I think it's probably just nicknamed the Night Hub for now since it is the only hub we've seen thus far and it is night.

This.

Though I wonder what the space is at the end of the E3 demo with all the ships, just a cutscene backdrop?

I have no idea what they're going to do.

Imagined the time visually changing but only as you move. So as you're making progress in the missions, the time of day changes. But if you stay still it won't.

IDK. :/
