Post what you did or didn't like about TR 2 The dagger of Zian

Feel free to post your likes or dislikes about TR 2.

Personally I thought it was good sequel to the original TR 1.
I especially liked the floating islands level with the glowing green platforms. For me it was a unique challenge to solve.
I gotta say I didn't miss the Madonna bra from the original game. Lara overall looked better, the spiderlara ability was an interesting addition.

I liked the Tibet section, especially Barkhang Monastery and Tibetan Foothills. I also liked the Venice section and Floating Islands. I didn't like the underwater section.

LoL, yeah the wreck of the Maria Doria levels, I remember being frustrated with those levels. Now I whip 'em without mercy.)

Wreck Of The Maria Doria is very hard when doing the game without using healthpacks, which is a standard playthrough for me. :o

The Maria Doria levels really do have the marmite factor, don't they? I personally love that section, especially The Deck. :D

Anyway, I hate Diving Area. I've always hated Diving Area. One day I'll be on my deathbed, still ranting about Diving Area.

What I did like:

- The location variety
- The soundtrack
- Lara's outfits (the winter jacket is my favourite)
- The weapon variety
- The entirety of the Tibet section is just.. *chef's kiss*
- The graphics & lighting
- Great level design & atmosphere (especially in Temple of Xian & Floating Islands)
- The trampolines (they were so ridiculous but they were fun) - why did they never return??

What I did not like:

- Too many human enemies
- The Maria Doria levels are tedious to me, but visually they look stunning
- Offshore Rig levels are just fine, but they are filler IMO.
- The spider cave in Temple of Xian
- Dealing with the underwater creatures (sharks, eels & barracudas)
- That hideous roll sound effect :vlol:

I recently played the game the whole way through for the first time as I never could beat it as a kid.

My favourite bits are more specific moments from the game:

The gauntlet at the beginning of the first level - I just love in a way the audacity of the beginning that it has this complex sequence of traps in the very first level in this day and age with guided tutorials to handle you through the first hour of a game. It almost relied on the fact fans played the first one before this one

The Venice level with the speedboat as it is quite action-y and cool.

The Barkhang Monastery level with the monks as it is a cool idea that you can make the level easier or harder by leaving the monks alone or attacking them. The Yeti's are also scary in the Catacombs after it.

The Temple of Xian is my favourite level in the game as I love the disorientation at the start where the level objective is right in front but then it plunges you into that slope with blades and boulders. The level scared me with its atmosphere and I had to save every minute or two.

Also the surprise attack on Croft Manor at the end is cool.

Special mention of the fridge and assault course too :D

I also didn't really enjoy the diving levels - I do like the opening of being left in the ocean and some of the swimming between areas is tense to make sure she doesn't drown but by the end of those levels I was glad they were done. Especially the deck level as I ended up going round in circles for ages.

There are too many human enemies as well and some levels were a bit like shooting galleries.

Too many human enemies

Yeah, I noticed that about TR 2. I figure the game designers did that because of the lack of human enemies in the original game. I could be mistaken though.;)

Marmite, I'm not sure what marmite is.
