Pretty much, yeah.

The same thing happened when she went through the roof in the Microsoft demo. At first I thought it was a QTE but it's no different than the collapsing plane segment or the grabbing to avoid falling that occurred in the past.

Though it may be simlar, it isn't a cutscene and its part of gameplay.

I thought I was the only person who thought that's what they were anyway. :pi:

leglion 07-07-12 16:35

The save feature will be so much more dramatic with that camera angle. I'm actually gonna feel scared that Lara's gonna fall. This coming from someone that likes killing her for fun.

just*raidin*tomb 07-07-12 16:37

Save feature? Wait you don't mean like actually save the game do you?

Because if you do, I'm sure there's a checkpoint before you jump on the plane.

No i mean saving her from falling. That angle when she fell off the ledge after jumping through the roof in the Microsoft demo.

Ah, yes.

trlestew 07-07-12 16:52

Speaking of falling, does Lara still get the Havok treatment, or is it something that will actually make us NOT want to kill her?

People who have seen her die have that the deaths are brutal and realistic and will make you either not want to kill Lara, or you'll want to kill just to see how brutal they are.

:p

Tomb_of_Darkns 07-07-12 16:58

I'm on the latter side lol

It's a physics engine used in many, many games. It's most notable side effect are dead characters falling to the ground as if every bone turned to jelly.

Ah, i see. :p Yeah, people said it was very brutal.

just*raidin*tomb 07-07-12 17:01

If Lara's death's are as brutal as the guys head getting crushed, its safe to say that when things die they...turn to jelly in a different way. O.o

lcroft_lc 07-07-12 17:07

7 months and 28 days until the game is out. :jmp::jmp::jmp:

Tomb_of_Darkns 07-07-12 17:10

I don't think that they turn to jelly, if you saw the combat demo, It seemed like they fell to the ground realistically and not like a ragdoll, especially the guy Lara first kills in the head. He slowly falls to the ground, with his head up to the sky as he dies a slow fateful death :mis:

I meant the combat demo headshot kill, not the first human kill! lol sorry for the misunderstanding....but the situation is still similar and haunting lol

Yeah that was almost disturbing. In Underworld they just slid across the ground. lol :p

leglion 07-07-12 17:14

I think it would be pretty stupid if they died like that but Lara didn't. :p

Tomb_of_Darkns 07-07-12 17:21

I would laugh if lara died like a ragdoll haha then be dissapointed :pi:

But yeah I want the deaths to be disturbing and not only be disturbing when you miss a button in QTE's I want them in regular gameplay. like if you fall from a high point, i want her to be mis-shapened or her neck to snap. Something. Something not resembling a ragdoll :p

OOps i meant the first guy she kills on the combat demo, not her actual first person kill :p

I want dismemberment :pi:

I wonder if they will put a pool of blood beneath her if she dies from a high point :mis:

New interview with Brian Horton: (there is a video on the link)

Quote:

After E3 comes and goes, we spend the next few weeks following the chaotic event going through our notes and scanning videos to see what content we can bring you fine people. Sometimes, the odd one slips through the net, but thanks to our due diligence and attentiveness, it doesn't stay lost for long, which is where our Saturday treat of an interview comes from today.

Whilst at this year's show we caught up with Crystal Dynamics' Senior Art Director, Brian Horton, to see what the team are doing with the extra few months after the game's delay, what we can expect in terms of puzzles, whether the Uncharted references are fair and much more. Much, much more!

And before you check it out, don't forget to cast your eyes over our Tomb Raider preview from E3 2012 here if you haven't already done so, it's certainly one to keep an eye on.

Tomb Raider is scheduled for a March 5th and March 8th 2013 release in North America and Europe respectively.
There is a video attached to it on this page http://www.xbox360achievements.org/n...eginnings.html

I don't know if anything is new, but it's nice to hear him talk about it lol

Rai 07-07-12 19:34

Pretty good interview. Thanks for sharing :tmb:

Why did that freaking interviewer bring Uncharted into this?
I want him to shoot himself.
It was nothing like uncharted.

After reading that article from a few pages back, the writer mentions some QTE's that aren't actually QTE's, but just button prompts. Similar to Underworld or Anniversary. When Lara loses her grip you have to press a button to make sure she doesn't fall.

I think some people are thinking that some events are QTE's, when they really aren't. At least in my opinion.

I've never had a problem with QTEs in general as long as they are well done. The problem with Legend and anniversary was that they used interactive cutscenes and not very challenging ones at that so they just detracted from the overalls story telling experience and in Legend they were just moves Lara could already do and they seemed to be what could have been the most challenging bits of an otherwise really easy game. That's my gripe. If in the reboot they are using in game QTEs I'm ok with that.

Yes why not jumping? It was 241 days yesterday. And 300 days two months ago. Countdown is reducing fast. I can almost smell the game. :D :jmp:

Its top secret. I can't reveal it at the moment. You have to concentrate and smell by yourself. :ton:
