....Do you realise who it is. It is Brendon Urie?

Plus just because you don't like the person in someone avatar doesn't mean you have to be rude towards them and people or things they like...

But anyway on topic, why don't you want multiplayer?
Ohh sorry then.

I think MP can only destroy TR and don't fit perfectly with TR. Beside my ping is very bad so I can't play it anyway. :p
Fun information could involve a competition of some type, so it might not be so silly. They also have not announce the composer yet, some might consider an interview with the new composer and hearing some more music tracks as fun. Or finally finding out who the new voice actress is, although that would ruin the fun of guessing for some. GDC is not till March, I would not count on seeing anything more of the game till then.
A competition would be silly, we already had few competition with EXCITING prizes.

Voice actress shouldn't be announced at this early stage or fans will jump on her and the voice acting might sux at the next stages(assuming it is not finished yet). :p

Composer announcement seems more easy to announce with the full version of main theme music.
So would I be correct in saying that there are GOTY awards for different categories? The one final voting which a game wins THE GOTY?

So TR has more of a chance of winning Action Game of the Year?
TOMB RAIDER has more of a chance of winning the GAME OF THE YEAR 2012 award which is overall category. :D

Stevo505 01-02-12 05:16

I hope they do a sit down with the composer to discuss the music, like Jason Graves did with Dead Space.

lcroft_lc 01-02-12 05:21
I hope they do a sit down with the composer to discuss the music, like Jason Graves did with Dead Space.
Jason Greaves could be the composer of TR as well. :D

NCFirebolt21 01-02-12 05:24

What if there's actually not one composer, but two?
Other companies have done it, with Modern Warfare 2, Lorne Balfe was brought in to assist Hans Zimmer in the score and I heard that about 9 hours of music had been composed for it... Don't know if it's true or not...

JsotoTRSaga 01-02-12 05:27

The Composer for the new TR has such a Huge potential... i Loved the songs we have heard so far especially the one that plays when Lara is escaping from the collapsing cave in the den Demo. I am so excited for this game and NO! the worst release date would be December so HELL NO! :ohn: This game should release by August, September or October 2012 :tmb: Please people don't give CD ideas of releasing the game in December lol ;)

lcroft_lc 01-02-12 05:28

^^ ACR has two composers too.

And what if there are actually more than one voice actress? Tamzin maybe did the turning point trailer's voice acting part, Camilla for the first day's voice acting part. There could be more persons who could voice the later parts. Lara has different looks from demo's and screens, then she could have different voice actress too. :D :p :jmp:

It's understandable to have two composers to ease the load of composing a game worth 10-15 hours of playtime. But to have 2 voice actors with even the slightest hint of difference would be bad. There's only one VA for this game. That's one thing we can be sure about.

JsotoTRSaga 01-02-12 05:41

Not really, There is not only one VA... Remember guys that the Voice of Lara for the demo was not the voice she had in the trailer... However Karl said somewhere IDR well that the Turning Point Trailer Lara VA was going to be her definitive voice Thankfully. And the game might have more than one composer Remember TRU? it was Troels Brun Follman and Colin O' Malley, so there might be 2 composers for this one as well. :wve:

I don't think they would ever to this to be honest... That means that Lara's movements in cutscenes would also look different, since the voice actors do the motion capture too.

JsotoTRSaga 01-02-12 05:47

Not all the VA make the Animations Stevo because Lara's animations in Underworld where not Performed by Keeley Hawes neither her other VA's.... The Motion Capture Models are totally diferent people that perform it and almost never the VA performs the Motion Capture for more Details you can read the Credits of any of the modern games that you own (that use MC) and check the VA of the character( in the manual or the credits) and you will see that it is almost never that a VA performs the Motion capture for the character. :wve:

Voice actress did the motion capture for cutscenes? Does Tamzin has same height of Lara Croft?

Well they did in Uncharted, and I thought it was confirmed somewhere that they were doing this? They said for sure that they are doing facial capture, so it would only make sense to speak the lines as they recorded the face and the body motions. I do recall somewhere reading that they did the acting while doing motion capture because they had the natural struggling sounds.

The Guy that voices Nathan Drake makes his moves? i doubt it However if you referring to Facial Expressions Motion capture then the VA possibly can do that performance. Just like in the videogame L.A NOIRE but not all of the people that made the facial Motions where the VA's. It is less likely that the VA's perform the Movements Motion capture but the Facial animation captures might be done by a VA. And if your referring to the Cutscenes i think that there are Motion Capture actresses for that not the VA either :/. I do recall reading there was going to be some of motion capture in this Tomb Raider in the Game Informer January 2011 Issue but i do not know if it was movement motion capture and Facial Animations Captures or if it was they where working in her Facial Animations to make them more believable i seriously do not remember quite well. ;)

Yes, all the characters in Uncharted do their motion capture while they record their lines (for cutscenes). I saw an interview with the voice actors, and there also videos of them doing the motion capture for it :p.

EDIT: this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bnru0qLBHRg

That is odd, it means that Naughty Dog hired some athletic VA's :p However not many companies do this, Almost none do this for their cutscenes. The Motion Capture as we speak now when referring to the Movements done when in gameplay are not Performed by the VA's like i said it is Almost never. But if they perform the Cutscenes ones that is a big surprise for me!

Edit: Thanks for the Link. That is impressive for some VA's to actually make the cutscenes :p in TR's case if you read the game manual's credits characters are performed by someone else and not by the VA though. (TRU)

Yeah they were performed by someone else in TRU but that doesn't mean they will do that in the new game.

Nolan North did the moves for cutscenes. He said somewhere he did it in AC too as Desmond. But in AC they record the cutscene motion capture separately, the head and the bottom part separately. But TR don't copy from UC. So the story can be different here.

Stevo505 01-02-12 06:12

Nolan also did the in-game movements too... there was another interview where he said his grunts and stuff were genuine because he was actually performing the movements.

The funny thing is people in uncharted forums dont know we exist/give a damn about tr..anyway on topic:mp has no place in tr and tr has nothing to do with uncharted where mp is justified:uncharted is an overly action oriented 3d person shooter with nothing unique about its atmosphere other than ridicoulously stylized action moments.however i cant see how a game as tr that heavily relies on its compeling atmosphere can implement mp without sacrificing part of its immersion while betraying the essence of this reboot

That's because they don't need to, the game they love isn't desperately trying to claw back a once great reputation.

Indeed they never had that. I just dont see why we as a community , even though tr admitetely lost its grace over the years ,see the need to compare tr to that franchise.would you all be happy if tr suddenly turned to an uncharted clone?i doubt that

Multiplayer and voice/motion capture does not make Tomb Raider an Uncharted clone.

I guess it's because Uncharted is perceived by many around here to be the best at the moment, it's sitting in the place Tomb Raider once sat. It's not about being like Uncharted or cloning it, it's simply about bettering it.
Multiplayer and voice/motion capture does not make Tomb Raider an Uncharted clone.
I beg to differ..in my books mp is just an attempt to marginalize this game and i bet my money that it will resolve around stupid gunfights and action scenes because those are the elements todays audiences are mostly drawn to

Edit: i have nothing against motion capturing

Okay, then don't play it. The stupid gunfights won't be part of the main campaign anyway. There's an easy solution: see the multiplayer option, ignore it.

JsotoTRSaga 01-02-12 06:56

No thanx, I definitley do not consider UC to be better than TR or the best sitting where Lara Croft once sat. So No, I have said that i consider UC too ''Inspired'' by Tomb Raider....

Stevo505 01-02-12 07:05

I agree. Nate is popular, but not as recognizable as Lara. Many people, even non-gamers know who Lara is.

lcroft_lc 01-02-12 07:14

Uncharted inspired from Tomb Raider.

Tomb Raider inspired from Indiana Jones.

Indiana Jones inspired from Allan Quatermain in Sir Henry Rider Haggard's novel.

End of story. :)
