Beyond the utter nonsense of someone defeating a group of gun-toting enemies using only a bow, it also means that everywhere she goes there's always got to be a supply of arrows as well.

Although I agree with your first point, the second is also invalid.
The bow is not the only weapon at Lara's disposal throughout the game.
Also, arrows can be crafted, so it's not like she'd have to find them laying around.
Whereas ammunition would have to be scavenged from dead bodies or mercenary camps.
And this is Tomb Raider, not Call of Duty. Lara would more than likely be alone on her adventures.

I hope the bow doesn't say a signature weapon for long.

Me too, I'm fine with it for this game but, starting with the next one, I'd really love to see it go (or at least lose significance) and see the pistols come back!

I don't think people understand the concept of a "signature weapon. Evidently by the last two posts.

A signature weapon is a weapon that is used by a character primarily out of all other weapons over a long period of games. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Why? I mean, ok, she's using it for this game because it fits teh concept but what about next games, is she gonna be the tribeswoman with the bow fighting mercenaries with advanced weapons? I mean is she stupid or what?

Anyway, I'm still gonna use the pistols so they can be my signature weapons for all I care.

Modern or not they're still "uncomfortable" weapons and I don't think they're gonna be many people's weapon of choice, I might be wrong though.

As for the dual pistols for the 100th time, we are getting them, they are an upgrade of the pistol she gets from Big Bad Russian Guy.
