Me too. I was thinking about that scene last night :D I want a long, great cutscene before the island part :)

We are like two weeks from the gameplay trailer (I hope) and I'm wondering how long it's gonna be.

Detail doesn't have to come from texture nor does it have to be ultra-realistic. Hence how TRU Lara was the most detailed video game character, due to polycount.

This sums it up.

It seems to me that this Lara (her face at least) is very smooth, she must have crap-tons of polygons but I bet they're more evenly dispersed then the Underworld model.

Plus this Lara is totally grunged up so her texture seem more detailed and realistic. Though her skin (without the mud and crud) still seems flat in some ways.

I remember the early TRU screens, either due to the lghting or texturing you could see amazing details on Lara's body...

Like the neck and arm muscle and bone details...

She seems to get flatter in the beta...

The big games usually came out before Tomb Raider till AOD and Legend and Tomb Raider usually comes out in November so where is the risk? A couple of weeks after a purchase hardcore gamers are usually looking for something new to play, and especially as a Christmas purchase a game closer to Christmas has more chance. Hitman will not lose that many sales to CoD, it would probably lose hardly any to Halo 4 which is only on the Xbox 360 and a few weeks before Hitman is released. Hitman is hardly some brainless shooter/wartime romp, someone more interested in suspense, thinking and stealth will buy Hitman. Despite the fact most of the big name shooters with online modes get a bigger slice of the gaming market, not everyone is interested in playing that type of game. So the little fish turn out to be a different type of shooter or completely different type of game they can still get good opening sales if they are good enough..

You srsly should watch the release list for fall...

Quote:

Oct 2 - Resident Evil 6
Oct 9 - Dishonored
Oct 16 - Breather week
Oct 23 - Medal of Honor: Warfighter
Oct 30 - Assassin's Creed 3
Nov 6 - Halo 4
Nov 13 - Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Nov 20 - Hitman: Absolution
Halo and CoD are the big ones. And most parents would buy CoD or Halo for they kids for christmas.
Good luck to get decent numbers out for TR.
Sry but the game is probably a 2013 release now.

No, it's not.

It is. Stop thinking as a blind fanboy. You WANT the game this year. But if you would think realisticly , the game looks more of a 2013 release. Especially no new news since last june looks not good too.
Cant wait to see more tears , when they announced the game for 2013 at E3. Which is probably the Case.

But they have said things to the effect that the long gap doesn't mean there is something wrong with the game, in fact it's all part of their plan.

Also, I think they've said before they won't be delaying TR to evade higher grossing or more popular titles.

Lukass 13-05-12 16:20

Bet the game is out in October.
