So is there any incentive to beat Hard mode? There's no achievement or anything tied to it that I know of.
I also hope there is a big enough MP population to grind out those achievements. Sorry, I'm clearly a Definitive Edition n00b and achievement hunter and or junky. :p |

^Hard mode? That's a joke, there's barely any challenge or difference between 3 difficulty settings.

I haven't tried the MP in this yet, but I haven't heard rave reviews about it. |

no, they haven't. They really should remove some of the multiplayer ones, like winning a ranked match for every mode will most likely be impossible in a few months when no is playing anymore.
|
They're going to come down the same way AVP is currently at right now.

Some people may not be aware that there is a petition poll going on at Eidos Foums for CD to show the original ending of TR'13. If you'd like to see this, probably as a YouTube video then feel free to go on over to Here to give your vote, if you wish. Be aware that this does involve signing into Eidos to do so.
The original scene involved Lara having to kill Sam in order to save the others. |
^LOL @ the person who voted for the "ignore this" option. There's always one, bless :p

I found the coolest bug/glitch at Shantytown involving ropes. Somehow an extra rope or two appeared at a location. Climbing these, I was able to travel outside the map and view the whole map from a distance. I have no idea how it happened though, and when I reloaded the last checkpoint, they disappeared. At least one did. If you look into the distance from the area of the helicopter you can see a rope that goes from the mill thing to the tower thing. I was on that.

And the Xbone version, too: http://sqex.to/Tomb_Raider_The_Defin..._One_US_Manual |
I wonder how well the DE will do in terms of sales. I've seen it a lot on websites being the number 1 pre order. I don't know if that necessarily means it's doing well but it's got to count as something right?

It'll probably do well because there's pretty much nothing else out right now, and people probably are looking to get their money's worth out of the $400 they spent on these next-gen consoles. :p
FWIW, the reception over at Gaf is almost ridiculously positive compared to the original's release last year. It's a night and day difference. |
I always thought this was a smart move for SE. Especially to get in this early. TR is probably the best game available for new consoles right now.

Xbox has like Battlefield 4, ghosts, dead rising, AC, Ryse. It's like no competition till Thief comes out on Feb 25th. By then we might get a teaser for the next TR game :P |
Can someone please explain to me what is Tomb Raider (Nordic Limited Ed.) ?
I mean what is the difference between that and the common edition? |
I would assume it's a limited edition only released in Sandinavian countries. The actual game most certainly doesn't differ from any of the other releases.

I never realized this before because I played with a gamepad, but the game is almost completely unplayable with keyboard and mouse, and the only reason are the ****ing QTEs. Okay, left and right are A and D, I was sort of able to figure that out on my own. But a button prompt with an exclamation mark? Why not just say that I'm supposed to press "F" here? I had to look through the button options to figure that one out, and that's just bad game design.
Or better yet, the game should have a setting "no QTEs, also skip all cutscenes". That would make it instantly much better. Edit to add some other notes: - Why on earth is Sam's pack there where Lara finds it? There's no indication how Sam or anyone else could have gotten there. Of course, In a world where they all went everywhere to distribute their journal pages, anything's possible, but still. - At the sheltered ridge, I had to press skip four times to get rid of all the cutscenes. What's the use case? Does anyone honestly think "yeah, I'm not gonna watch that first and last part, but the middle is gold" or something? |

Anyway, another thing I realized again: Despite all the complaints I have about the story and the upgrading and whatever, at its core, there is a really fun game here. Killing all the deer and rabbits is fun. Exploring a sprawling jungle environment is fun. The basic jumping and platforming is fun. I just wish the game was more about that and less about the other stuff. |
Playing through the Definitive Edition again. The amount of times Lara gets into a scene like sliding down the slope to get away from a crashing plane is quite comical. When I played that just now I actually imagined her thinking this. Still a good game though. :D

Booop! We've got an official title for the first Comic book!
TOMB RAIDER: SURVIVORS GUILT! The only criticism I have is in relation to the exclamation point in the title. It's extremely unnecessary. :o Also, if this wasn't posted before, here's a big version of the cover! |

Will we get told how much the DE did? Or if SE were happy with how it did.

Can somebody link that epic Lara Box Tomb Raider video. I can't seem to find it on youtube
|
Don't know if this has been posted yet, but I thought this was an awesome picture:

Yeesh. The one on the left looks better than the one on the right.
|
You can almost hear old Lara saying "who the **** are you?"
Take a good look, Lara. That's where you're headed. |

This is the cover of issue 5 of the Tomb Raider comics!
http://www.comicbookresources.com/im...-FNL-4b0b7.jpg Does anyone see what I see?! The Trinity symbol on Himiko's kimono! http://www.tombraiderhq.com/img/tr9-...5_tomb-400.jpg Is it the same in the games and I'm just now noticing? Or are they dropping massive hints about Trinity? |
