Talking a bit off topic, THANK GOD and Core Design for TR Level Editor. It's the best gift that any TR fan could have!
I feel the series are far from its roots now after the 2013 reboot... and I also think Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix are disrespectful (with the series and its fans). TR Level Editor will make sure that our original and classic Lara will ALWAYS live. I'm one of the few (at least here in TRFORUMS) that love Tomb Raider Chronicles. Ugh that dress! I love it so much. It’s always so cool seeing how people can recreate the classic feeling in these levels. If I ever do take a crack at level building, these are goals. :D

I subscribed this forum looking forward to vote the CaC competition, but now I'm a little worried. 38 builders listed at page 1. Assuming all of them will finish their work in time, the voting thread should stay opened at least for one year.

Starting to realise how restricting some level sets can be.
Only so many textures and very few objects.. Most of the rooms end up looking the same. Starting to run out of steam, so to speak.. Think I'm about near the end of my level - but I'm not really satisfied with it. To late to pick something else now so.. I'll see how it goes but not sure I'll get raving reviews for it |
You can mix textures though.
They don't have to be from one particular level. Same for the objects. :D |

If you want more of a TR2 feel then I say stick with the TR2 ones, but if not then go with the TR3 ones

An Egyptian TGA file for TR1 came also with textures for medikit sprites, laras face etc... are they permitted to use inlevel for those more surreal type levels? theyre technically original textures--- just not usually applied to the walls.... so can object textures be applied to geometry? thank youuu |

@Howaito Those medipacks textures etc are not part of those game's geometry textures, it's just there because of ripping flaws reasons. Those are object textures. Nevertheless, I am using objects as room geometry (using tomb editor, but this can also be achieved with meta2tr) and I don't see any problem with it. The only advantage is that it reacts better to lighting, so it doesn't interfer with the whole classic thing. |

Finaly I got back to it and instead of huge outdoor places from south pacific, I made a short rome themed level ! It's far from perfect but it's a nice 20 minutes level I guess lol.
I just has an issue, the sfx are all messed up I don't know how it happened. For exemple when Lara picks up something it makes the noise of a pushable, and a lot of other things like that. A lot of sfx are missing too (mainly from Lara's animations) I have a hard time founding a link to something that would help me fix it easily, does anyone know something ? Thanks :) |
Open your wad in Wadtools together with a Wad where you know all the sounds are working. Just scroll down and copy all the sounds of the working wad into your own. This should solve (most) sound issues. :)
