TOMB RAIDER: Expansion Stuff pack

Or

TOMB RAIDER: Featuring stuff previously removed from the previous game to introduce as something new and revolutionary such as crawl, vehicles, outfits and swimming and pretend they are brand new due to a marketing desicion to remove them in the first place in order to make us do a small amount of work and still get paid even though we already developed them previously but held them back similar to an apple product

:)

True. :(

Though I don't think this is intended the way you make it sound, but I still feel awful about it and we need swimming in TR10 but they shouldn't hype it beyond the podcast or something IDK.

edit: Though removing some things was good IMO.

The help; Mommy won't save you, Lara!

Then it's sequel;

The help; Mommy to the rescue!

Looks like the first one had a misleading title.

This!!! There should be a level where you get to speed on a Miami highway or something and blow up enemy's cars! Oh yes! And Michael Bay could direct the cutscenes! :p

I highly doubt Tomb Raider cost $300 million to make and market... :vlol:

I dont even think that number has been reached by any Hollywood film... ever...

Ok I just looked; only ONE movie has ever cost $300 million... Pirates of the Caribbean: at worlds end...

http://mostexpensivemovie.net/

Compare that to this...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...mes_to_develop

Now granted, that wiki link is kinda unreliable, but its enough for me to call BS on those TR numbers...

GTA V looks like a ridiculously vast, expensive game to produce, and if thats costing around $140-150 million, I highly doubt Tomb Raider cost twice as much....

Valentino 21-07-13 10:14

So why didn't this game have chapter select?

My guess because of the open world like structure. Too many variables to keep track of.

Don't see how. Star Wars: The Old Republic is speculated to be the most expensive video game ever made. Created over the span of six years by 800 developers on four continents and costing $200 million and is a large scale MMO.

There is no way TR can match any of that.

Hairhelmet12 25-07-13 16:03

Ellen Paige played TReboot! :D

Quote:

I played video games more when I was a kid. I had Sega Genesis and was a HUGE Sonic fan. I also love the NHL games and played them with my brother all time. Then I was super into Playstation and loved the FIFA games. I recently played my first video game in a while. I played the latest Tomb Raider and really enjoyed it, finished in about 12 hours.

and here's a little blip from Keeley about not getting asked back for TR.

Quote:

Talking about Tomb Raider, were you a little surprised that they didn’t have you back for the new game?

No, I knew they weren't going to. I did three games, which is quite a lot in that that world. They take long to make and I’d done documentaries about her, so I was quite happy to let her go. It needed a freshening up though, and the fact that they went back to the beginning is a very clever thing to do. It introduces her to a whole new audience and I’m proud to have been such a big part of the franchise for so long.

Keeley :( Oh Keeley.
This is the first time I've heard her talk about Tomb Raider.
My all time favorite Lara and VA

I've noticed a pattern - Shelley Blond voiced Lara one time.
Judith Gibbons voiced Lara two times
Jonell voiced Lara three times
Keeley voiced Lara four times...

Does that mean Camilla will probably do 5 TR games? :p

Well I don't see her going away anytime soon. She will definitely stay for at least like 2-3 games.

I wouldn't mind that .....love her :)

James_Rutland 26-07-13 15:35

Camilla is fine. Any voice actress that would of had to pull of the whiny, corny OTT lines that Lara delivers in TR9 would seem bad. However, her normal and calm voice that we hear when she's generally talking, especially in the turning point trailer, is amazing. It's very Lara-like and fits her perfectly.

I like Camilla :) she's a lovely woman and is very pretty, but I wouldn't want her as Lara in the movie. She's just too... well, cute. :p

Phlip 28-07-13 16:58

I was just thinking about a save system for future TR's - basically, TR1 style save crystals that don't disappear when you use them, so if you backtrack and whatever you can use them as many times as you like, and they could be scattered a bit more liberally than they were in TR1 (but nowhere near as many as there are checkpoints in Crystal's TR's). But that probably wouldn't work with the mostly linear TR9 gameplay style, where it has many gunfights; it could get tedious going through 3 gunfights without dying before the next save crystal.

Don't the campfires already work this way?

No. http://z1.ifrm.com/0/1/0/e47/e47.gif You got checkpoints pretty much every 4 and 3 quarter footsteps.

The campsites do work like that in TR9. They save every time you use one, even if you just go to the top menu and immediately exit. I'd often use them like save crystals myself.

The checkpoints were just added dumbing down-ness because you can't have people retracing more than two seconds of gameplay these days. Because everyone's apparently a massive lightweight.

Checkpoints are not campfires though. You are proposing removing checkpoints.

Honestly I just prefer to be able to save anywhere anytime.

Phlip 28-07-13 17:45

Checkpoints somewhat remove the point of campfire saves...

I agree. And their frequency also removes the point of trying to play well.

Not as bad as PS2 TRU.

Open door.

*Checkpoint*

It closes behind you.

*Checkpoint*

Go down the corridor.

*Checkpoint*

...With no possible way to die in between.

Buzz Monkey may as well have just made a title screen and put it with the final FMV on the disc.

does anyone think that if they killed Reyes instead of Alex it would've been much more better ? I mean imagine Reyes crying and giving Alisha's photo to Lara saying : "give this to Alisha when you come back and tell her that I love her so much" ...and then dying :(
in this case we would really feel sorry for Reyes and even feel sorry for Alisha because she became and orphan .....TBH I never felt sorry for Alex :o

FreakRaider 28-07-13 21:17

^ Exactly my opinion :p

I can't watch woman crying because of pain.

Not really. None of the supporting cast added anything or meant anything to me. The same could be said of the principle cast as well really.
