They definitely seem to be getting more into the small spaces in this game so hopefully there will be a crawl.

Sorry about all of those Èès, my keyboard is messed. :9

BTW the game looks amazing when you takes screens in HD...

I hope Lara has a crawl move like that, so we crawl on all fours...

I knew you worked for CD. :vlol:

Back on topic:

I wonder if they've upgraded the engine enough to not have walls? Just ground and a horizon (or whatever)?

larafan25 07-01-12 05:10

?WutÉ :p

Chances are the island is one big mass of polygons, the game world, and the ocean is around it, and then the sky much further away, a giant sky box. :)

Well they did say "explore everything" for TRU so...

But that was a tagline, which is comparable to A survive is Born or Forget everything you know about Lara Croft.

Whats been said here, is that we can truly get to every place we see (if our abilities and tools allow).

That's a good point. We probably won't see her climbing to the top of mountains.

Depends on how the axe works.

Itès not like climbing to the top of a mountain would ruin level design or anything, she cant fly.

If the axe can interact with all rock, then we could climb right out, but if there is a special texture or points to attach to, then we probably wont.

Pausing through this video, I think the crawl animation when she is climbing the incline is just a sped up version of what could be her normal crawling animation.

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 05:14

Well she gets to the top of the one with the radio tower so...she gets there somehow.

Hmm. That's right huh. Maybe she really can go anywhere that a real human could.

Exactly.

See this is my theory thingy...

We enter the hub, we have to go up to the wolf cave which is up in the mountain, but not too high. We donèt have the axe yet though. Thatès why in the leaked demo we have to climb all over the monastery and why there are wooden debris and architecture going up the rock, so we can get to the cave without the axe.

However, all of the rock aside from that looks normal, cant see any texture difference or any hand holds for the axe.

So maybe we really can just smash it into any stone surface and go.

Would be nice.

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 05:19

Maybe.^
Maybe she finds a away up there via inside caves/catacombs made by the scavengers. Ohh that would be creepy.

But then whats the point of the axe (question mark). Unless you mean getting to the wolf den. :p

I am fascinated by the idea of using the axe inside caves. Like vertical caves you see in real life, and just scaling up the rock until you reach a material it cannot cling too, and having to jump backwards and climb around.

Im trying to get to the mountains at the end, but the shots are too interesting..

I think this shot is so cool, it could have been used for some promotional art or something...

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 05:25

The last shot is really cool. Holy I want to draw it. The graphics look really nice.

The axe would be a cool tool inside vertical caves. Imagine swinging from stalagmites and then they break and fall away if you're not quick enough. o.o

Stevo505 07-01-12 05:28

The graphics are more believable than Uncharted's. Uncharted always gave me a cartoony impression.

Ooo! Thats something I want them to bring back, breaking surfaces. Of course we see tons of breaking surfaces in the demo, but I mean ...well no thats what I mean...so yay they brought them back! :D

BTW, Im just posting these again as Im positive this is the key to the mystery of the hubs!

http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/u...n25/MAPS-3.jpg

I dont think that image is accurate, the way I noted it, but I think this one is...

http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/u...n25/MAPS-3.jpg

Although I see another (hub) at the bottom of the image...I just wonder which one has the radio tower in it, and what is this dark space separating the hubs, and is it what we climb over to get to the radio tower in another hub...

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 05:32

^ hmm I don't know. :/ It's very mysterious.

Yes, especially the trees... They look very unrealistic, but detailed. Don't get me wrong, they look beautiful. But like you said sort of cartoony.

The leaked demo looks so good in terms of realism. Just the way the wind is blowing and how it's effected the rain and all the plants. It looks really believable.

The waves splashing up on the cliffs. Amazing.

larafan25 07-01-12 05:35

Do you think we can explore and enter the under areas of the ship wrecks(question mark)

I hope at one point we come across the Endurance and get to rummage through it and see Lara cry.

Yeah, she'll see all her dead shipmates. That could be such an emotional scene. I hope we can do something like that.

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 05:38

So this open chat thing is working out surprisingly well. :p

larafan25 07-01-12 05:38

Maybe lie on the ground and open her sideways locker to look at herself in the mirror, all dirty and ugly, then cry some more and enter the fetal position.

jk, but yeah, Id like to explore ships.

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 05:40

It would be cool if we could explore a WW2 ship as level, considering they are very large ships.

Indeed, thats what Ive been trying to get out for the past month..I want complex interior ships to explore that are creepy and have water to wade through and swim in.

BTW, has anyone forgot about the whole plane crash scenario (question mark).

I forgot about that entire section until I re-read the GI article a while ago, and seeing how much dust and rock was flying in the den, I can only imagine what this plane crash is going to look like. Im sure its something that would flash before us in a certain gameplay trailer.

Or she'll see her useless iPhone that she spent her hard-earned money on.

That too.

Would be cool if the ship started to turn with us in it, even thought the CGI trailer tell us its lying rightsideup on the beach.

IKR

Ièm imagining the plane crash from UC1, with Lara sliding in the TRA CGI trailer, and...I think...

OMG...

Wasnt there a comicbook image of this!É

I remember an image from the comics of Lara sort of sliding down a hill and there being debris behind her!

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 05:52

I don't know, but I need a gameplay trailer now. omg.

Yeah I think we'll see something similar to the way Uncharted uses another character in gameplay. A great opportunity for character interaction too. Maybe then we'll see a bit of ironic humor to lighten the mood a little bit.

All this talk is getting me excited. I wish another podcast would come out.

I love those bits of Uncharted, makes me like the characters more.

I think we are getting another podcast this month

I think he will live.

Stevo505 07-01-12 06:04

I hope Roth isn't the only other main character. I hope there's another guy or girl who is still alive and helps Roth while Lara is gone, and Lara can do stuff with both of them when Roth is able to move.

I second this.

It would be really cool if you could "Request character to follow", or something. :D

larafan25 07-01-12 06:12

I think there will be a small group of survivors which will collect as the story progresses, and they will be left at base camps.

That would be a great feature. Lara could be like "I need you to help me with this." And if you decide you don't need them before you leave, she could say "On second thought, stay here and watch over the camp." Or something.

I just don't want Lara to be stranded with an old man. I mean he seems cool and all, but it would get lonely. Maybe that's the point though? Maybe CD wants us to feel more stranded and isolated with just one other person. I dunno. Maybe the guy who helped Lara in the trailer will be a survivor :)

just*raidin*tomb 07-01-12 06:21

Since its very story oriented, I honestly doubt it but possibly.

I captured a screen just for the heck of it. Oh man the moment of impact...ouch.

So painful. But hey, she's tough. If this were classic Lara, she would have died instantly.

Her looks really good in this screenshot for some reason. Probably the best I've seen in a game...

But for some reason it doesn't look as good in other screens
