Do you think it's a bit excessive to use an explosive arrow on Feefee? :D I might try it to see what happens.

:D

In fact I think we should take off and nuke the entire site from orbit... it's the only way to be sure.

Just got the game at Gamestop after dinner with my parents, and I must say it's probably the best Tomb Raider I ever played!
I was skeptical about this game. I was worried it wouldn't have that Tomb Raider feel but oddly enough it does feel like a Tomb Raider game.
And the graphics are amazing for an Xbox game :tmb:

Tell us your verdict once you have played the game through fully ;)

Lukass 09-03-13 07:36

Yes, the graphics are amazing. I play on X360 and it really does look beautiful. I'm just lurking around and enjoying the environment.

That's the best thing about the game, IMO. You can just wander around without the game pushing you to the next story point. You never know what you're going to find.

Lukass 09-03-13 07:43

^ I spent 3 hours in the deer forest! :D I can't find all the skulls :-/

I'm in the Shanty town, just got fire arrows. How far in the game am I?

I would say you have a few hours of story left. It's just getting good.

DaNoNeMoKiId 09-03-13 07:54

They are there so wildlife can run in and out of the area you're in. They're not there for anything else, that's why Lara gets hurts when she touches them.

I'm glad to see you liked it. :D

voltz 09-03-13 11:26

**** Rambo!

No seriously, if they release the game and they somehow managed to screw it up, I'm not worried because I'm pretty much playing Rambo right here. :)

klona 09-03-13 11:59

Does anybody know how can I get more ammo for the grenade launcher? :o

Soul 09-03-13 12:16

There's tons of ammo during the Monastery escape scene and afterwards - look for wooden boxes. Or what do you mean?

klona 09-03-13 12:30

Grenade Launcher ammo is no where to be found, I just restarted the game to see if enemies would respawn.
Hopefully they do.

Soul 09-03-13 12:38

I was just playing Shanty Town, after having finished the game and some enemies dropped grenades :)

trfanX34 09-03-13 12:39

I just finished the game. Wow. Wooooooooow. This game is AMAZING.
Why isn't there a chapter replay function though?! ;__;

Seifer 09-03-13 12:42

I'm mopping up relics and stuff that I missed at the moment. It's good exploring the areas again, but I'm finding myself hankering for some action. I was just in the Shanty town and I heard guys talking so I deliberately fired a shot off to get myself into a fire-fight :o

I'm going to play the game again on Hard, once I've found all the hidden stuff.

Peep Show 09-03-13 12:42

Gotta love youtube comments, there was this one guy saying CoD is better than TR and literally everyone jumped at him, defending TR (not even TR fans) his comment was also marked as spam. :vlol:

klona 09-03-13 12:46

I'm looking around, there is not a living soul except for Lara in the island at the moment.

Peep Show 09-03-13 12:49

There are enemies in the night hub, shanty town and beach (that i've noticed) but isn't it funny how everyone said there's too many enemies/combat and now you get to free roam on your own and people want them back. :p

TR fans are worse than Lady gagas monsters and they can get pretty ferocious :D

klona 09-03-13 12:53

Weird that there is no fast travel for the Cliffside Bunker?
Anyway, I just went there to look for the grenade ammo and I found 7! :D
I wonder if CD deliberately skipped implementing a fast travel camp here, because there is one here in the perfect spot, but no fast travel for it.

:o

I love the action :D

I personally would say that it's not that there's too much combat, but rather there's not enough tombs and puzzling.

I feel like doing this to an enemy;

They shouldn't complain. Afterall, they're the ones who kept begging to be isolated.

Learn to shut up people. :)

trfanX34 09-03-13 13:02

I LOVE the combat in TR. It's so much fun, never gets repetitive :D
Too bad there barely isn't after you complete the game. Why didn't they just add a replay chapter function? ;__;

Exactly, I personally love combat...already played the game on hard twice, they need to add a new difficulty tbh!

I got a better idea, how about running across random scavenger groups?

We know for a fact after the game is completed, there will still be people on this island. There's no point in CD trying to pretend there ain't.

After Lara's killing spree? It's now a mop up operation, just getting rid of the stragglers :D

What's hard like? Is it similar to Uncharted's 'crushing'?

There are scavenger groups around the island, but they're just one or two people mostly. No way to get into big battles.
There is something that makes no sense though: SPOILER Why are the scavengers still hostile to you after their leader (Mathias) is dead and Himiko's soul destroyed? There's no point

Laraisfit 09-03-13 13:10

Was the tomb on the beach any good?

I think I skipped it....it said 'Tomb nearby' and I saw an entrance (I assume was the Tomb) which needed to be opened with the arrow/rope but it would not open.....I assume I needed to use the new shiny bow that the big guy gave me....but I didn't bother.....

did I miss out on anything good?

Yeah, funny thing, I was one of the ones saying that there was way too much combat. Now that I finished the game, I'm also looking for more fights. It's like the game and post-game are two completely different animals. The game has too much combat and not enough exploration. Post game has too much exploration and not enough combat. No happy medium.

Not that I'm complaining. Well, okay, I'm complaining. But I'm not too serious about it. I still think this game had way more combat than any of the Tomb Raiders before it. But more and more I'm thinking it's less and less of a bad thing.

You know, in my reviews around the net, Amazon included, I was saying how this was a great game, but I'm not sure it was a great Tomb Raider game. It had such a different feel than any other Tomb Raider games before it that if it weren't for everyone calling the main character Lara, I'd completely forget I was actually playing a Tomb Raider game.

I hold to that view, but the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking that maybe that's exactly what the franchise has been needing. People (myself included) seemed to be thinking all the TR games were the same by the end of the old trilogy. Maybe it was needing a total revamp.

I don't know...maybe we should have a poll between what people want:

1. Classic gameplay/New gameplay
2. T rating/M rating
3. More combat/More puzzles

Because, as far as I can tell, those and the combat system seem to be the main things that really seem to set this apart from every other Tomb Raider I've ever played.

The same reason they were shooting their guns at you in the first place. Brainwashed, corrupt, think for themselves. Not to mention some helpless young chick out in the middle of nowhere = easy loot, nasty thoughts with said chick, etc.

Hmm I think "crushing" is a bit harder but TR's "hard" is harder than Uncharted's "hard" so it's somewhere in the middle of both difficulties if that makes sense. :p You need to stay in cover all the time though since you can take only a few bullets plus I think it takes longer for the health to regenerate.

Thanks :) I look forward to going into battle once more :D I was killed a few times on normal, but overall didn't have too many problems, it was a bit on the easy side.

I'm not exactly a trophy whore, but no trophy/achievment for finishing the game on hard? Not good CD, not good.
