I'm just watching it now! It's crappy quality, but it's still amazing to see her facial expressions. It is so well done! All her moves are finally human like! I love every single move of her hands! I love how she's desperate and scared! Uuuugh!
I can't get over the way she's jumping! They used similar jump animation in LCGoL and it looked fab! In Tomb Raider is 1000x fab! Oh, please!

larafan25 11-03-12 02:44

General question:

Does the giant waterfall beat the Lost Valley's? Has that been the largest waterfall so far in the series? Or was there larger in TR3?

All I know is this waterfall is pretty big, and hen the final scene shows the wolf, you notice near the "top" the fall splits and there are two streams which return to one large stream. That space up in the mountains goes further back, it's so grand.

TheRCroft 11-03-12 02:45

I would be sooooo happy if they released a HQ version of the leaked demo. OMG, can you imagine? I guess they're planning on showing it to the public anyway.. soon.

just*raidin*tomb 11-03-12 02:46

The largest waterfall in the series by a long shot is probably Ghana in Legend. I can't really tell how large this one is though.

I'm afraid we'll have to wait for E3 :/

larafan25 11-03-12 02:47

^They're showing combat at E3 though.

TBQH they don't need to release the entire demo, but instead release one gameplay trailer between today and the release (preferably before E3) with snippets and I'd be fine.

Oh okay, then this beats that.

I'll make a screen collage of the the waterfall to show how big it looks! D:

Plus, we actually get to climb by the side of the waterfall, because we have to follow that wolf up to where he last howled.

edit: OH OH OH.

And we have to get to the flashing radio tower behind that cliff, so obviously we'll need to go further back that way, I bet it drops down at the other side or something.

Indeed :/ Oh well, at least we have it, crappy quality or not :p

I just can't. I just can't help but cringe at the wolf. I mean, everything is just perfect and then there comes the wolf to spoil it all.

On an unrelated note, I'm hoping the hair will have a much better animation. It looks really bad, but I'm aware it's just alpha, so I'm kinda not worried, but still.

just*raidin*tomb 11-03-12 02:52

It beats Ghana's waterfall? o.O

Lukass 11-03-12 02:53

I know....the wolf spoiled it all and I hope it's not in the final game :/

IMO the wolf itself is fine, he can stay. It makes sense and adds to an alive game world. I just think they need to not announce his presence. The wolf itself doesn't show you were to go, he just is there being attractive to the player, so if they see that out of the corner of their eye/ screen, they will naturally be compelled to follow it, which is so much more of a rich experience than having a camera do it, it feels to mechanical and robotic that way IMO.

Oh there has to be someone there who thinks the same, I mean we all thought of it so it can't be that hard for them. :p

Perhaps the only reason it's there is for the purpose of it being a demo, to show off a bit. :/

just*raidin*tomb 11-03-12 03:23

I think the reason its there is that for some reason some developers feel compelled to help out the player sometimes, for fear that it may be too difficult or something, but the thing is back in the day there were no hints and the games did just fine. Exploration was encouraged more I think.

larafan25 11-03-12 03:31

It's bigger than Ghana's I think...

just*raidin*tomb 11-03-12 03:33

Hm it's really hard to tell. It doesn't look that tall to me for some reason.

Ghana's spans around the entire 360 degrees of the room though. :p

There's no way that waterfall is bigger.

larafan25 11-03-12 03:35

^I mean length wise, but I did forget it spans the entire room.

It's not just one fall though, it falls and then drifts out and then falls and drifts out into another stream, ETC...

But it seems really tall. :/

It's all part of the same waterfall but they're divided by rocks at the fall. I believe it was inspired by Victoria falls since the level was originally supposed to be south Africa.

larafan25 11-03-12 03:39

I'm talking about the TReboot fall being multiple falls which hit and then fall and then hit.

leglion 11-03-12 03:41

Ah right. I forgot about that i counted the whole thing as one big waterfall. Well, if that's the case, it's definitely not bigger than Ghana's.

larafan25 11-03-12 03:43

Well I count it as one with waterfall, but it hits and then falls, etc... It's still the same stream of water.

But it's not one 'fall' though. they all fall at different places so they're different waterfalls.

larafan25 11-03-12 03:49

Hm, they don't fall at different places. I'm calling it one waterfall. It's one linear stream of water which breaks into two and then goes into one again, it twists and turns but it's one waterfall to me.

Well, by definition it's not. :\

larafan25 11-03-12 04:01

I don't know this definition and don't care. :/

Well then, let me enlighten you. :\

What you have there in the screenshot is a cascade, a series of small waterfalls.

larafan25 11-03-12 04:05

K. I don't mind.

Does it really matter? For me and rest of the world it's waterfall.

TRexbait 11-03-12 04:09

Hm... what if climbing in TR was like this?

http://www.foddy.net/GIRP.html

just*raidin*tomb 11-03-12 04:09

Lolll

TRF insanity brought on by lack of informationsss.

EDIT: ^ I would like it if it were similar to that in terms of control, but it is a little bit complex. The animations are funny.

Oh please....don't be ridiculous. We're not at school! This is forums! It doesn't really matter if larafan25 call it waterfall or cascade...

Exactly and we're discussing the length of the waterfall in comparison to Ghana's waterfall so the definition of a waterfall became relevant in determining the height of the waterfall. Anything wrong with such discussion since this is a forum? no? Goodnight.

G'nite :wve:

just*raidin*tomb 11-03-12 04:41

It doesn't really matter. If someone doesn't want to call it a waterfall, let them be. Jeeze. It's not a big deal. :p

larafan25 11-03-12 05:47

Interrogation times bitchez.

If the game has autograb but no magnetism and we can steer Lara...

why are her arms stretched out to grab so soon? :/

Hey, it's better than being bored and having absolutely NOTHING to talk about (ahem, I'm talking you you Crystal).

leglion 11-03-12 07:10

Perhaps it's like the old tomb raiders larafan25. Maybe she stretches out her hands when you press the grab button but the only difference is that the animation only plays if the engine detects a ledge/edge in reach.

I'm pretty sure you could press grab in midair and she would stretch out her arms regardless of if there was a ledge..
