They have other evil traps like the spike roller that forced you to run forward with boulders coming down from the ceiling, while there are spike traps on the floor, with arrow traps shooting at you that you can only dodge by running and trying to hide in small spots in the level. They went crazy with the difficulty in this game. Aside from some bosses that can nearly one shot Lara, it really begs for you to spend money in order to get access to better gear quickly. |
It’s free to play what did you expect.

I didnt expect to have this much fun with this game but here I am!
I just wish I had to buy it instead and it didnt have this annoying difficulty! The theme and design is too adorable! Edit: Lost Valley frogs are pissing me off!!!! |

And now we finally understand what Crystal mean about unifying the timelines. It'll happen exclusively in this game. ;)
Anaya, Kurtis, Von Croy, Winston, TR1 story... Just waiting to see Jonah turn up next. |
Oh! I'm so happy to see Kurtis back, too. I always liked him.
But the shower thing again? And in a teasing post from someone actually working on the game? Really? Sigh, sometimes I wonder if people who make that "joke" are actually aware of how tone deaf that comes across. Or at least I'm hoping they're just tone deaf. But anyway, how is this going to work with all these characters thrown in? Do these Archero-type games actually allow the implementation of a lot of different characters in their own roles or is this mainly a “cutscenes” thing? What gameplay I have seen of those types of games would suggest that they aren't normally very heavy on the character type stuff, in appearance or otherwise. So, how does this work? Can you swap them in for Lara as a playable character? Do they just appear as a mechanic to drop items and bonuses, as I understand, Anaya, Von Croy and Winston do? That doesn't sound like it would allow for a lot of cameos to work, unless it's chapter depended. Jonah won't turn up in Reloaded, by the way, as the game focuses on the Classic and LAU eras. |

But that light ribbing, as people like to call it, can have some uncomfortable connotations, considering Kurtis is of a mixed background. He's of European (German) and Native American (Navajo) heritage so making fun of his personal hygiene can come across as insensitive, at the very least. As this sort of thing, implying (a more often than not) non-white/mixed person is somehow 'dirty', is a rather common racial stereotype thrown around a lot, often very casually, as I understand it. So, being aware of that might be something to keep in mind, when these sort of things come around. Especially if there are no malintentions. |
