But weird that they copied the Funko Rock Candy Lara for the art style.
|
I am just glad they are gonna give us anything to bridge the gap until the next main game. So far I've had fun with most (all?) handheld TR games so let's hope this one delivers as well.

I really love the art style! I've been an advocate for a cartoony art style for a long time! And though I wanted something a little less cute and more along the lines of Fortnite, I'm really happy with this look. Hopefully the gameplay will be good and no idle game or one of those "collect and level up characters and tell them how to attack a group of enemies without actually being involved yourself" games like Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes.
What I find pretty weird are the fans who compare this to the announcement of Diablo Immortal and make the "Don't you guys have phones?" meme as if it was a comparable situation. Diablo Immortal was announced during a huge Blizzard event on stage with a big audience and at that point Diablo fans were waiting for a new main game for 6 years (8 years by now, Diablo 3 was released in 2012). Meanwhile, TR Reloaded was announced in a trailer, not during a huge event and not even with a long buildup. And it's just been 2 years since the last main TR game was released and it got DLCs until last year, so technically the last "full" TR game was released just a year ago. And this isn't even the first TR mobile game and so far the mobile entries in the series have been pretty good (aside from that last patch for Relic Run that broke the music), so I also don't get the concerns about that. But I guess that some TR fans can only create drama and never be happy about anything. |
I mean... it's a mobile game. Can't say I am particularly interested in this, but I am happy for everyone who is hyped to get some new TR stuff. :)

It seems to be getting a more positive reception here than on the TR subreddit. How can anyone see the title "reloaded" and think it's the next mainline game?

I'm probably reading too much into it but seeing this Lara under the Tomb Raider moniker feels right. |

Spyro Re-ignited Tomb Raider Reloaded It fits, don't you think? |

Is this a remake of TR1 or TRA? Because they are two very different games, the latter being much more simple, boring, easy, repetitive (****ing ledge hopping), with missing content and no replay value. If it's a remake of TRA, please don't even bother SquareEnix and just release Core's version instead. |

Crystal said that’s why we have the Lara Croft series (only 2 games) so we can have original Lara and survivor Lara to appease all fans. Which, yeah, I totally respect. Obviously the Lara Croft games are arcade styled and lower budget, but I think it’s been beyond clear gamers are adamant survivor lara is very bland and doesn’t stand out. Crystal might think they found the (tired ass) formula for Tomb Raider games but that doesn’t mean they can’t spice Lara up more. |

We were talking about the title. the 'reloaded' part. People saw REloaded in the title and thought of remaster or remake. Before even clicking. It's really not that deep. |
