Oh snap, I just beat the MP leaderboards #1 player at FFA. :whi: (For real)

spyrostr 01-04-13 23:47

do you think they should make something like this with the new TR comic?

Yeah I'm on PS3 too. I think the only place it has happened for me is Himiko's Tomb. Other than that it's been fine. It only happened like twice and wasn't game stopping so I enjoyed it, it's pretty funny.

hayden 02-04-13 06:35

Does anyone know whether or not it's better playing on PC than PS3?

EDIT: & will PS3/XBOX360 ever have TressFX? :o

I'd say with the constant patching and the general awesome look of the PC version, I'd go with that. Yes, it's buggy but so is the PS3 and 360 version/s. The PC version is also really flexible with graphics. I managed to play it on my boyfriend's 4year old integrated graphics laptop on Low and Normal settings. It's very optimized I highly suggest it :tmb: Also, savegames are readily available to play at any desired part of the game (plus the extra save slots!) My original playthrough was on the 360 because it wasn't unlocked on steam yet when Aus broke the street-date...kinda wish I had waited for the PC version.

TressFX on the PS3 and 360.... I highly doubt. It'd be a big inclusion into the code I'd think and it's optimized for AMD graphics cards. Hell its even a bitch to run smoothly on nVidia ahaha :)

hayden 02-04-13 06:58

I was thinking of buying a Capture Card for my PS3, but I figured it would be cheaper to just buy the game for PC, use my PS3 controller, and buy a recording software for PC. :)

mizuno_suisei 02-04-13 07:16

It would be :) FRAPS runs great for me. Really good framerate too and i'm only on a GTX650 and on Ultra settings:D

I finished Tomb Raider today. It's one of the best games I have ever played. Soon after getting the game I decided to buy the limited edition guide and art book. I got the guide so I wouldn't miss anything. I also bought a 22" Samsung LED HDTV to replace my 13" RCA analog TV. I couldn't read small words on the old TV.

I heard people were experiencing some sort of 99% glitch, but mine reached 100%, and without a patch.

I had a couple of glitches happen on Shipwreck Beach. When I came back from the Alex part I went back on the ship by the crew, and the mast was fixed. I left and came back and it was knocked down again. On that ship I also got stuck moving around the side of the ship after jumping wrong and Lara ended up sideways with her head stuck to the ship and was walking on air. She eventually got unstuck and landed on a small rock ledge. I couldn't get back on the ship, so I had no choice but to jump into the water.

Great to hear you had a good first playthrough like I did and many others :tmb: Glitches really are inevitible.

I was watching the leaked 2011 Night Hub demo again and you know what I just noticed. Not only does the game look so much better in the finished product (obviously), but her hair was also quite different, AND the camera hints with the camera aiming at the wolf (howling then running away in the direction you have to go) are gone. It's nice to see that CD took away some big hints. So there we have it. There could have been much more hand holding. Thank god the finished product isn't like that. :D

Heckler 03-04-13 07:39

OMG.... :vlol:
this guy bashed the absolute crap out of TR.
Beware! There's mild cussing so if a mod has a problem with this, feel free to take it down.
This forum section is dedicated to a mature game though.... :whi:
.... Even though I love the game I found this really funny and clever.

Heres Anniversary and Underworld

Boot up the game, and they'll say they've been installed. Then go to a base camp, and then on to the gear tab and then the last icon. There you can choose an outfit.

egypt_gypsie 04-04-13 17:18

Yay, thanks =]

If anyone is interested on hearing TR in Japanese, I just came across this video.

トゥームレイダー 日本語吹き替え版プレイ動画:寺院からの脱出 (The title is some totally deep **** btw)

Random question about the Tomb of the Lost Adventurer - I see the "puzzles" involve a lot of setting things on fire by pushing objects and manipulating the environment etc. So, I was wondering, if you go in there after you get the fire arrows, can you kinda just "cheat" your way through it by setting everything on fire with your arrows, or won't it just work? Just wondering. :p

I haven't played it yet, but you can do it with all burnable objects in the game so I don't see why you can't with that tomb. :p

trfanX34 04-04-13 20:38

It's not really cheating, as I think that they intended it to be played with or without fire arrows. The only difference would be that, instead of shooting at the little oil lamps to set the cloth on fire, you'd shoot fire arrows at the cloth directly.

Linoshi Croft 04-04-13 20:41

I know one of the cloths can't be set on fire with the arrows...it wouldn't catch when I did it, and Lara said it wasn't enough or some ****.

Mikky 04-04-13 20:47

Oh, okay. Thanks for clearing that up, guys. :D

Tbh, if I ever get to play that DLC, I think I'll do it the "proper" way and not use the fire arrows. I really would feel like I was cheating if I did. :o :p

Huh? Really? That's dumb. O_o Did you use the regular fire arrows or napalm arrows?

Linoshi Croft 04-04-13 20:48

Regular fire arrows.

trfanX34 04-04-13 20:49

That probably just happens on the cloth that requires you to do something more other than just shooting an oil lamp above it though. Which makes sense, it would lose all of its fun if you could do it with fire arrows.

Lol, would have been funny if you did use the napalm arrows and she still said it wasn't enough. :p

I kinda agree, but when developers make design choices like that, it takes away the control from the player and forces us to do what they want us to do, which I really don't like in games. Having an option do it other ways, even if it's a shortcut, is always better, I think.

King.Louie 04-04-13 21:42

Is there a reason why the new maps have not been added to the US psn?

spyrostr 05-04-13 00:09

do u think that Lara should encounter only men enemies in the next game? i think it will be innovative if we must encounter female enemies as well.. :)

I think she should encounter those creepy supernatural enemies in the original concept art.

Hyper_Crazy 05-04-13 00:12

Has there ever been female enemies in TR? I really can't think of any.
Regular enemies that is, not the big baddies like Natla.

I'm surprised, for a series that basically screams 'girl power' not to have any female enemies. Women can be mercenaries too and die just like men can.

Apart from main 'boss' enemies, like Natla or Sophia Leigh, as you mention, I think not. A bit odd that really, if you think about it. It would be nice to see some female non boss enemies in the mix. The closest I can think of which counts, I guess is the hag in Chronicles. Maybe Lara can come across a cult of female warriors or something in a future game :p.
